A meeting of chance

A poem about what I would first show an alien who came to earth.

If an alien from a galaxy far

Riding on a bright shining star

Appeared to me upon the earth

Light years from the land of its birth

I would find a way to communicate

So that we had a manner to conversate

If its arrival happened to be by day

There would be so much to do and say

I would explain the wind the grass and trees

Flowers and shrubbery birds and bees

Creeks and ponds with swimming fish

To show him all would be my wish

My planet's nature in its finest glory

That would be the first part of my story

Explaining all things terrestrial

To this visiting extraterrestrial
