layers of light in a gem

Giant gemstone

crafted and honed by nature's fury

grown in time

but not thrown

like a tumbler rock with hard knocks

You rolled through open fields

and vibrant streams

chizeled angles

through prism dreams

burst through a light path

now journey to your bold formation

from the earth

a gem creation

with your change

and the test of time

on the hardness scale becoming fine

covered and uncovered through the shape of the earth. You found land spheres with a wide girth

I climbed through a hidden cave

my hands discovered what I can save

over the years you traveled with me

and one day we sat under a tree

thinking of what you and I can see

what we are and what we ain't

the beauty of you became an image to paint
