Your Life Is About to Have a Dramatic Change

And it’s all your fault

When we think about radical changes in our lives, we always imagine something either very sad or overly positive.

Like something broken in our body, losing someone we care about, or winning the lottery and going to live forever on a wonderful tropical beach.

However, perhaps those are not the most important changes in our lives.

Radical changes

What do these changes we call radicals have in common? When we look for the common characteristics, we find that they are:

  • Things that happen to us because of external factors;
  • Things that we can’t avoid or undo;
  • Things that did not result from our choice.

While all of this may be true — these may be the facts — our tendency to classify these situations or events as radical also reveals:

  • That we attach a high degree of importance to them ;
  • That we tend to value more things that happen to us more ;
  • That we devalue our own choices in the face of factors that are not in our control.

Rethinking

Perhaps we can rethink these ideas a little. Perhaps we can start to appreciate more the small changes:

  • That we choose;
  • That we strive daily to ensure;
  • That can bring radical changes in our lives.

“Everyday presents a new opportunity to grow and press forward to your success. Stay the course believing that where you are right now doesn't matter, as long as you are moving in the right direction.” ― Germany Kent

Recognize true changes

Let’s look into some examples of the radical changes we may cause right now.

  • When we start exercising every day, we may not think of that as a radical change. However, if we maintain this habit, aren’t we causing a radical change in our body and mind?
  • When we commit to reading a book every week, aren’t we building a radical change in our knowledge?
  • When we start a daily meditation practice, aren’t we changing the way we see our lives?
  • When we help people who are experiencing difficulties around us, aren’t we building a radical change in our life, in the life that surrounds us and all those who relate to these people?
  • When we join a solidarity organization, aren’t we building a better world for everyone? Is there a more radical change than that?

“Take a step in the right direction and you will find your smile again. It will be there beaming by the light of God’s amazing grace.” ― Calvin W. Allison, Standing at the Top of the Hill

Big changes are small changes

If we value the small steps, we take daily to build a better life for ourselves and those around us, we will feel more the real and positive impact of our actions.

“Everyday presents a new opportunity to grow and press forward to your success. Stay the course believing that where you are right now doesn't matter, as long as you are moving in the right direction.” ― Germany Kent

We will give more value to these actions, and with the positive strength of each change, we will gain new strength for the next step and be able to overcome the stressful situations that happen in our daily life.

That is the way the important changes happen: the radical changes are the ones we choose to build with our daily actions.

We must learn the value of all our victories — small or large — because each one is more important in our lives than we realize.

“If you have legs that work, walk in the right direction. If you have an audible voice, say constructive words. If you have functional eyes, see great things. If you are in a position of power, use it productively and if you have a sound mind, think exceptionally; for such is not a given, but grace.” ― Gift Gugu Mona
