11:59:50 PM, December 31st of any year since I’ve known myself as a person, a moment of promises, reflections, and decisions. After a fateful 15 days trying to fulfill everything I promised myself, returning to the comfort zone seems like the best option. After all, why try to change things if they are still functioning? Poorly, but they are functioning.

Sleeping late, waking up early, waking up late. Waking up not because there is something worthwhile to wake up and chase, but just because you can’t sleep anymore since the body and mind won’t let you.

Jumping from one channel to another, from one social network to another, from one video to another. Filling the mind and heart with the worst and most futile that entertainment can provide, wasting time watching things that add no value, but at least distract. Distract from what? From the fact that everything is stagnant?

Looking Inward

Six months later… time to “step outside ourselves” and see how we are, where we are, and where we are going. The analysis leaves no doubt: thin or fat body, the result of what we eat and don’t eat, foggy mind, a sense of lethargy, depression, anxiety. Actions were not greater than desires, we did not wake up with whom we dreamed, we did not set foot in places where we traveled when we closed our eyes, we did not achieve anything of everything that is worthwhile or that would make us happier, more satisfied, content.

Debts… Demands

You can’t escape them, whether we are growing or not, whether we are evolving or not. With the passage of time and the closing and opening of new phases, fulfilled or not, well-passed or not, we need to account. The more potential wasted, the higher the bill.

Debts outside of financial life seem to be much more difficult to deal with and pay off than financial ones.

Everything begins to become clear: the comfort zone is not comfortable.

Comfortably Uncomfortable

Visualize. Or. Daydream. A capacity we more often use to have waking nightmares than to really dream. Extremely fundamental for getting out of the hole we stubbornly keep digging, because no one achieves what they don’t visualize.

Cave

The comfort zone is like a dark, familiar cave. Inside it, we feel safe, but the lack of light prevents us from seeing the opportunities and beauties that exist outside.

The Lake

It is also like a still lake. The surface may seem calm, but underneath, the stagnant water begins to smell bad. Only when we move to a flowing river do we feel the true vitality and freshness of life.

The Sweet Pain of Growth

Growth hurts. Construction often comes with destruction, destruction hurts. Muscles are destroyed, in their place, larger and stronger muscles are built. Pain is an essential part of growth, whether physical or emotional.

Growth hurts. We cannot receive anything in life without giving something in return, without paying the price, without bearing the cost.

Growth hurts. But denying oneself to grow is more painful. One does not grow in the comfort zone, which is why it is not comfortable when we really stop to see.

Good journey, my friends!
