Why are you poor?

How can a poor person become rich?

Some people will never be rich in their life, from the perspective of some Chicken Soup for the Soul, perhaps they will say, whether a person is rich, birth, gender, and life circumstances determine everything after that.

But from a realistic point of view, birth, gender, and life circumstances are only some of the reasons.

What you see now are 100 black dots, which represent the standard of living of all human beings and the degree of wealth.

Among them, the rich account for the top 20%, and the poor account for the bottom 20%. And the middle 60% we call it is the middle class.

In this 60% of the middle class is divided into two classes: the upper class and the lower class.

From these 100 black dots, we can see that whether rich or poor, poor, is relative. If a person wants to change from ordinary or poor to rich, then he has to beat 80% of the people to enter the top 20% of the group. This is what we call the law of two or eight.

Due to the limitations of the law of twenty-eight, it is destined that 80% of the people in this society will never enter the circle of the rich.

So here some people may have doubts, now the society is not the law of two or eight, may have entered the law of one. The rich account for a very small number of people or only a layer or so.

This is like students in the same class. There are classes where the first-place finisher is far ahead of the second-place finisher. But even that doesn't affect being an average student who works his way into second place in the class.

The 19 law that everyone talks about is just a law of social development nowadays. Those extremely rich people are far richer than we think, and we can completely exclude them from the scope of what we are comparing.

The extreme rich may not even reach one-thousandth of the whole social group. And the system of society as a whole serves the mass group.

Considered in terms of time, every person in our society today has a standard of living far greater than any person had 100 years ago. Unless you are at the bottom of the pile in modern society. Otherwise, the standard of living as an ordinary person in modern society is probably far beyond that of a king 2000 years ago.

Before 1000 years ago, the life expectancy of any person would not exceed 50 years, because, in those days, there was no way to cure the diseases of that time except for alcohol or some superstitious witchcraft, and viruses were not absent in any society.

But then, reflect on ourselves. Even now we have cell phones and computers. Entertainment projects have KTV bars and so on, but why do we always feel their happiness?

The fundamental reason is that the law of two or eight applies to any time and space, only when a person's wealth exceeds that of other people in the same time and space, it is truly rich.

So the progress of society as a whole does not mean that one has surpassed the standard of living of the king a thousand years ago, and naturally one does not feel happy.

So how can one become rich? Let's analyze it from two aspects. Also, two aspects that we can achieve from our point of view.

Analyzing from the objective side, each person has different ways to get information about social resources. In different regions, different countries also limit the level of affluence of any one person. Some countries are prosperous and the people live and work in peace and happiness.

But there are also countries where there is corruption and where individuals occupy most of the assets of society. Most groups are in dire straits. Of course, such a nation will not last long, and the reason why a person does not become rich when he is in a stable nation. It is simply because they do not go to study. There is no kind of perseverance, no willingness to pay huge sacrifices for success.

Usually, there are only very few people who are willing to take high risks, try things with low success rates, and sacrifice decades. 80% of the population that is separated from society for their economic well-being.

This is true in any country, in any region. Wherever you go, you hear stories of losers making a comeback and starting from nothing, which means that poor people can indeed become rich.

But almost everyone is not willing to pay the sacrifice and self-discipline.

If it is the region that limits development, we can go to a place where there are more development opportunities. And 80% of people are not willing to take such a risk. Most people get their education where they were born, find a partner where they can spend their life, and spend most of their time working at a job less than an hour away.

If there are no other particularly big changes, perhaps this will be repeated for the rest of their lives. Come where you were born, leave where you were born. Live an ordinary life until the end of life.

The second aspect is analyzed from the perspective of time. Ask yourself, can we make the most of our time every day? What is the limit of energy for each of us?

Can we work up to eight hours? Is it possible to break 12~14 hours?

Can we persist in doing the same thing for a long time without generating any direct return?

This is the delayed gratification we mentioned before. Successful person does not think of a step to the top, they are perfectly fine with delayed gratification.

Money, fame, and success are all long-term processes. How many people are willing to pay the sacrifice of the present for the unseen future?

Can you keep working while others are playing?

Can you study without being distracted while others are having fun? Are you willing to resist cynicism to work hard and achieve your goals?

Trial and error and failure itself are something that must be experienced in the journey of life. With the ability to accept failure on their own, almost everyone does not try trial and error and failure or even have the sense to try. And those who dare to try, often also because of their own three minutes of enthusiasm lead to halfway. Quit their plans early.

Becoming rich is itself a process of delayed gratification. Persistence is the only way to succeed.

Wealth is also a final reward for those who make sacrifices. There may be overnight riches, but in the face of ordinary people who do not have overnight riches, persistence, trial, and error is not a shortcut.

Whether economic or spiritual, the most frightening thing about an adult is not being poor at the moment, but not being able to realize their plight. Perhaps the truth is that any person will understand. But we are just ordinary people, how easy is it to do?
