"Many of the shadows of this life are created by the shape of our sun." ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

I recently had a phone call with Brad Yates. Even though I knew this was true, when he said it, it made me think again. He said (and summarizes):

"To the extent that we do not live our lives the way we want - with the love and friendship we seek, the abundance we want, and the happiness we crave - it gets to the point where we cannot."

That's another word: resistance. What does it mean? What do we do about it?

In fact, resistance is any thought, belief, or character, conscious or unconscious, that contradicts our desire. At the top, we can make good assumptions, positive perceptions, and think about our success. But in the end, we get what we expect. Always.

Sometimes it can be as simple as not believing that you can get what you want. That thinking approach sets the stage for some of your potential. You limit what you think it will be. And you end up getting what you expect.

Your knowledge is a powerful tool. If you do not believe that you can have what you want, it shows resistance, despite all the things you do to achieve your goals.

Okay, so, what should you do about it?

Live with the possibility of possibility.

The reason that anything is not happening in your life is because in some way, you are not in line with it (you don't think it is possible, you don't think you deserve it, or you don't think you can have it).

Here are five practical steps you can take to cope:

1. Be honest with yourself.

Be clear about how you are participating in the truth that you continue to experience. Ask yourself: What is the limiting thought, belief, or pattern of conduct that I am now experiencing that stands in the way of my desire? Which of my points do I need to work on most in my life?

What part of the equation do I participate in that keeps me from getting the same results? Because the truth is, you always live up to your ignorance expectations. Knowing "your status" will give you the first clue as to where your work lies.

Take 100 percent responsibility for being the powerful creator you are.

2. Avoid self-deception.

As in the oak life the energy of the oak tree, what you want is already inside you.

None of this is a game until the finish line. Instead, use resistance to point you to areas that need to be "removed." Use it as an opportunity to become more real as you are. There is nothing wrong with you.

It all comes down to you in your own way, as you are ready. Be prepared and open to accept.

3. Do what you can to do something about it.

Let go of what you can't control. Sometimes, knowing your repetitive patterns is all that is needed. But sometimes, we need to take other steps.

In the Course of Miracles, they say that there are only two emotions: love and fear. When you are in a position to resist something, look for fear behind you and find a way to get rid of it.

Meditation is one way, but so is self-defense, telling a different story (meaning stop being scared), making phone calls, and doing something.

4. Focus on the other.

When you think about what you want and why you want it so badly, resistance (belief, frustration, thinking, feeling, or ignorance) often happens at the same time.

When you completely distract yourself and think about something else that you enjoy, you are in for a rude awakening. And the universe can bring it to you with a small amount of resistance.

That's why dating couples end up losing the extra weight they once had or getting the promotion they once wanted. They are in the area
