The Secret To Making The Most of Your Mornings
The past few new years, my resolution has remained the same: to have a more productive morning. I’ve had this idea in my head of what the perfect day looks like for me, and it always begins with an early morning. It is well known there exists a relationship between waking up before sunrise and success. It seems that the most successful individuals understand the importance of getting a head start to their day, which is what led me to find my perfect mattress.

When thinking about what healthy resolutions we should take, most of us gloss over the most important component to enable a healthy lifestyle: our brain. How many of us have set resolutions for ourselves just to quit halfway through January (if not sooner)?
Valérie RowePublished 3 years ago in MotivationThank You Vocal For Giving Me a Mountain to Climb
Writing is hard work done in solitary aloneness with the hope that others will find your words appealing. Reaching those significant others can be almost impossible without a mountain-like platform from which to speak.
Lynda CokerPublished 3 years ago in MotivationFalling Apart... Again
The piece of writing that follows was queued to publish to my blog in March of last year... and then my son died. I cringe when I look at the person I was back then. So optimistic. So many freaking silver-linings. But I'm also in awe of past-me: how she could string words together and paint pictures. How she truly believed that everything would be okay.

"I'm a liar. And I don't care who knows it." That was the opening line of my first "self-help" book. I put "self-help" in quotes like that because I think people associate it with stupid, repetitive, and a waste of time - and I can attest that I used to be one of those people. Then, I read Shonda Rhimes.
KamPublished 3 years ago in MotivationThis is my courageous life, show me yours
I recently stumbled across my answers to some Courageous Living exercises from Your Courageous Life by the wonderful Kate Courageous (Kate Swoboda). They were written as a predictive vision of my best possible self, many years ago, and at the risk of great personal embarrassment I’ve decided to post them here.

Meiko S. PattonPublished 3 years ago in MotivationHow a Cup of Coffee Can Help the World
When I was little, I remember the first time I had seen someone buy someone else a cup of coffee. I was around ten years old or so, and I was sitting in the back seat with my brother as our mom was picking up some coffee before dropping us off at daycare. To her surprise, the attendant at the drive-through window informed her that her order was paid by the person in front of her in line. Surprised and pleased, my mom handed over her card and told the attendant to keep the ball rolling and to pay the bill for the person behind her.
Cathryn DennisonPublished 3 years ago in Motivation3 Ways that Quitting my Routine Saved my Career
We’ve all been there. When the clothes are piled high, and the dishes are forming a leaning tower of Pisa. Coffee doesn’t even touch the chaos. This chaos was my life just a few months ago. Each morning, I would wake up with the same ideology. I would hit the gym, hook up to my caffeine IV, and grinned my teeth into a forced smile. For years, I entered the same routine, and it produced the same results. I was running in circles and not even coming close to self-actualization. I was barely making space for self-care. After years of following the same routine, I realized that it was putting me closer to my grave than my goals. If I wanted to survive past 40-something needed to change. So, I threw in the towel and entered the race. Here are three ways that quitting my routine changed my career.
Dr. Colleen BatchelderPublished 3 years ago in MotivationSo You Didn't Win A Vocal Challenge?
POV. A new Vocal Challenge pops up and you immediately begin thinking about the creative angles you can take to tackle the prompt. You spend a crap ton of time brainstorming ideas, drafting and outlining your story and then you pour yourself into writing. You scour the web for beautiful media, photos and memes and happily add them to your story. Finally, all that's left to do is dot your I's and cross your T's and hit that 'Submit for Review' button. Done. Perfect! You promote the crap out of your story, posting it on Reddit, Facebook, Instagram, you name it! Then, announcement day rings around and...you don't win. You didn't even place.

Through the many months in lockdown, and the countless surges of COVID-19 cases, my thoughts of the future is somewhat fading away. In lockdown, the distractions around me are also innumerable. These things caused my time to disappear into thin air.
