The Question

The question that comes into my head. Reoccurring as if the reason is slowly slipping away. Jokes were made & strides to the end goal felt nice but still, emotions rose & the question is live. Filled with imagination, thoughts & explanations reach the surface as you wonder what may come of this.

Not sure if it was me or doubt was created. Lost a self or a reminder of why. The idea gets darker, you start to question yourself and your motives. Doubt & Fear builds as bonds get closer the more in tune we get.

New aspects are explored, thoughts & connections are put to the test. The anticipation of one another builds leading up to what moments are made of. You stop to think about what comes of this. The build-up, the fear. The constant communication & interactions that make it all worth it.

Fear clouds the mind & all you can do is imagine their thoughts. If you’re going through so much mentally then how much must they be going through about it? Always wondering if they feel the same or if they just keep to themselves & live for the next. As if separated from yourself like a cape crusader who lives in the night but crumbles in the day. As a zombie who fights for life, or a victim who survived the night, you wonder if both sides are in an agreement or an impasse.

You remember the question. Constantly going through your head. You struggle to decipher the meaning but after all, it’s just a question. Words that’s out together to receive a response. A question that can have the easiest answer. The more you think about an answer, the more weight it holds. So much thought into answering a single question gives so much power to it.

You come to realize that you (like everyone else in the world) don’t really know the true meaning of the question because we all react & respond differently. Our experiences & emotions alter our growth & understanding of the world. Not knowing the answer to the question either just leads us to ignore & move on or fall into curiosity to encounter the answer or response to it.

A spark emerges from the light of hope & positivity. those fears & anticipation fades away into the dust. Positivity & kindness for yourself & others help to remind you of what’s important. You overthink yourself & question yourself. Your mind goes into a spiral of changes as your memory rewinds like a tape recorder going over scenarios of what to do.

You continue to understand the meaning & learn why the answer is actually easy to answer. The long response you made up in your head was just a hole you propelled yourself into because of the gratification of many. The long process of thinking it over & all the wondering became a way for you to sort it all out while arriving at a conclusion so you backtrack to when it all started.

You snap back to reality as you return from it all. As in but a dream, a daydream if you will that distracted you & led you to this madness. What seemed like hours only became minutes.

The question that started it all rises again. The one that led you to the path of self-discovery & reassurance. The world of wonder that you journeyed to, to find an answer that was there the whole time. As you stand up, puff your chest & take a deep breath, you look in the mirror once again to ask the question, who am I?
