Living Unaware - The Blink of An Eye
Life passes in the blink of an eye for those unaware of the life they are living. Annelise Lords

What the hell happened? A Fresh Mindset
Some stopped paying attention to the life they were living, forgot the important things, and let them pass by, unaware.
They say life passes in the blink of an eye, and I always thought that was bullshit growing up, but it might be one of the most accurate things I have ever heard. A Fresh Mindset
No, it’s not accurate for me.
This is my personal opinion, because, born in poverty, I feel everything that happened to me. I not only feel the pain of poverty, but I also tasted it too. It’s not something you wnat to keep on tasting. I feel life and what it sends my way deeply. I feel and absorb the love and hate: kindness and cruelty. I feel everything that happens to me, what I see happen to others, plants, animals, and my world. I feel all of the hell and heaven happening around me. I also feel balance. If I allow life to blink, how will I enjoy it?
The pain stays with me too. It stays and reminds me what’s right and what’s not.
There are 60 seconds in one minute, 694, 252, 944 in 22 years and 1, 640, 961, 504 in 52 years. 60 minutes in one hour: 11,570,000 in 22 years, 27, 331, 200 in 52 years. 24 hours in one day: 192,720 in 22 years, and 455,520 in 52 years. Seven days in one week: 8,035 in 22 years, 18, 980 in 52 years. In the 30 years that slipped by, 946,708,560 seconds passed. 15, 768, 000 minutes. 262, 800 hours. 10, 950 days. 360 months.
How could that possibly have been thirty years ago? I actually have to stop and say those words to myself because my brain refuses to believe them. Thirty years have somehow disappeared while I wasn’t paying attention. A Fresh Mindset
How does life pass in the blink of an eye with all of this time?
It passes in the blink of an eye because many humans are unaware of their life, actions, choices, decisions, and intentions. Life hurts for all of us because no life is without pain. Pain demands awareness and accountability in how we live. Balance won’t let us get away with anything. If it’s not paid, it steps into your life and takes what’s due.
It doesn’t feel as though I’ve lived another three decades. A Fresh Mindset
Can you live that long and feel nothing? How often do challenges, pain, love, hate, all of life’s tests enter our lives? Life teaches me something vital daily.
We don’t have as much control over our lives as many of us think.
But with realization, you can see life as it goes by and give yourself the power to make sensible decisions. Being observant shapes how you make your life decisions.

With attention, you can control what Fate and Destiny do to your life.
But life taught me that when we don’t focus on the important things, ten, twenty, or thirty years can feel like a blink. How we live makes our lives feel like blinks.
Eg., several humans I gave kindness to were cruel to me. Remembering them is remembering pain. So, we don’t focus on anything or anyone that adds pain to our lives. Then the hell they put us through evaporates with the blink.
No blinks for me. Life hurts, so I need time to process everything to halt pain and everything else. I also need time to enjoy my life, and it won’t be a blink. I need more than a blink from life.
Thank you for reading this piece. I hope you enjoyed it.
