Keep Fighting
My name is Jamie. I grew up pretty normally; youngest of three, had both of my parents, lived in a nice town in a big house. I didn't have many friends, but I was okay with that. They were great friends.
Jamie SmithPublished 6 years ago in MotivationThings That Make Me Happy
We live in a busy world where the news is bloated with misery and tales of greed and corruption. It makes me feel as if we have gone back to the dark ages where basic human rights were privileges for the wealthy. With all the stress being buttered about in the world that is only getting worse, I decided to combat the stress by writing a list of five things that makes me happy. This is all my personal opinion, and I hope by sharing this that you find it empowering.

What if I told you that you could have $100 right now? No catch, just free money! You would probably say “Heck yeah!”, take the money and head on over to the mall and pick up a pair of those nice shoes you’ve been eyeballing. Hold on just a second though. What if I told you that there was another option? How does $1000 sound? I know what you’re thinking, what’s the catch? Well you’re right, there is one. In order to receive 10 times the original offer you have to wait. You have to be able to wait 3 months before getting your hand on any of the money. Instead of waiting these long months you can opt out at any time and just settle for the quick cash of $100. The choice to wait in order to receive a greater reward is known as the method of decision making called delayed gratification. Delaying gratification means to make a choice that limits the ability to receive something now, in order to be able to have something better later. Choosing to practice this method of decision making throughout life certainly can lead to success, and here’s why.

Just when you think that you have finally got it in all the right places. Whether with love, family, jobs, or even financials. Things just have a way of rejecting all your progress—all the good given and all the hard work, just gone. Sometimes I wonder why it always has to be this way. I know out there, in this vast world, so many of us struggle. So why does life have to fight against all of our good? Why does the world work against all of our hard work? Why? So many "whys," but no matter how many times I ask, the world seems to refuse to answer. My life—many lives out there, whether the same or different—contain so many struggles.

Approximately 26 years ago, in the center of Oklahoma City, OK. There was a bright eyed, bushy tailed, baby born into this world. She was outgoing and had a drive for knowledge as soon as she learned to make sounds and walk. That baby girl was yours truly! You're welcome.

Do you know what your birth chart says? Or, do you even know what a birth chart is? Your birth chart is based off of the time, location, and date of your birth. At the time when you were born, every planet and star and thing up there in the universe were in a specific place. Doesn't seem like it matters, but it absolutely does. Your birth chart displays where all those planets and stuff were, and this contributes to the magic that is your personality.

EVERY MOVE YOU MAKE is for the Purpose of Living a SUCCESSFUL LIFE. Successful life means a few things: Every day you love what you do, even though it's not always easy. Every day you make progress toward more of what you love to do. Every day this progress maintains you and those you care about. This maintenance fulfills your basic needs. Your basic needs are met and therefore you are equipped for life in a healthy way. Because you are well equipped, you're focused on having rich experiences rather than on survival. You are capable of showing others, by your example, that it's possible to live life that way.
TLS SherpaPublished 6 years ago in MotivationFace the Challenge and Love the Game
This is my opinion. Face the challenge and love the game. Whether you are going to school and getting your education or you are taking experience from your job working enough hours to support yourself, there is always drama. There is always that one person who's a teacher, an assistant, or manager that drives you insane to an extent you lose confidence in yourself and your effort in work. However, as people, we must believe that we are better than what anybody thinks. Our work effort shines so brightly that the people who we are in conflict with just don't see. If we are known as these moving creatures trying to put an experience or a knowledge, living with it and aging with it, then there is always something that an individual is good at. For example, a student who has difficulties with math or science may be more creative with languages and arts. It could be vice versa, too; a student may have difficulties with arts and languages, yet succeeds in math or science. Yet what a lot of people don't know is that these subjects can relate to each other because it is about following basic concepts of knowledge. I don't understand how you can scold a person for their talents.

When I wake up in the morning, I meditate. I center myself, I find my inner peace, and I meditate my ass off. This is my way of preparing myself for all of the news I will see throughout the day on social media. Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.
Aidy PerryPublished 6 years ago in MotivationYour Heroes
It's said by someone I'm sure, you should never measure yourself to your heroes. A quote I came across earlier this week though said that "you shouldn't be trying to network up, you should be networking across". I don't particularly remember where I saw this quote, as I have a shitty memory, but I know it's been at the forefront of my mind. I also think the latter quote has been the cause for my personal introspection, and now I turn that outwards to you. The idea is explained that you shouldn't be trying to network with those who are already established, yet with your friends and neighbors who are establishing themselves. To this concept I say yes. That's why I work very closely with a network of like minded individuals and groups like Mehji Ent. I myself run a blogsite I just started up called The Renaissance Project. It's an art initiative I started to follow happenings if the underground art communities in Maryland, Delaware, and Pennsylvania currently. I hope to cover more as I get the chance to travel and meet more artists. I have been inconsistent in my content upload though. Not because I don't have things to post. The Mehji's have almost ten tapes on Spinrilla alone. Most of which were uploaded in the last couple of months. It's because I have been doubting why I even do what I do. I look to others who are more established than myself and think that I am foolish to be doing it all. It makes it hard because there are peers I have, that are significantly more successful. And admittedly sometimes, I wish to reach out to them. Sometimes I feel guilty for even wanting to say hi. I don't want them to feel like I'm mooching off of their hardwork and successes, so I leave them be. Honestly though, I needed to. I needed to stop putting so much pressure on where I wanted to be as an artist and start focusing more on what I wanted to produce as an artist.
Duece ConfuciusPublished 6 years ago in MotivationMeaning of Happiness
Happiness. The feeling that most people are hopeful to actually "feel" and experience. The feeling that is so difficult to describe. The feeling that I work hard towards achieving in my life and one that I wish to experience more of. I seem to be searching for that feeling lately, that experience, those moments that I can just sit in and soak in and hope that they never disintegrate. Happiness, is it a feeling? Or is it an experience? Or is it a place? Is it a state of mind? Or is it just one more thing that people search for and rarely find? Or is it something that a person finds but can't hold on to it for a prolonged period of time?
