Big Cats Are Terrific Parents

If we encouraged our young

Like the mama and daddy big cats do

We would have no problems

And maybe the children would not be blue. (Caren Krutsinger)

Siberian tiger cubs are born blind. Fully dependent on their caring mother.

The dutiful tigress is exclusively responsible for her helpless cubs for their first twelve days. Her God-given instinct is to protect and tend for her offspring. This urge overtakes all other impulses. For this period, she rarely leaves their side. And this only to hunt, returning to feed and comfort her babies.

God, our Father loves and cares for His crowning glory. His people so much that He NEVER leaves our side.

Siberian tigers are the world’s largest cat. A strong male reaches a magnificent ten feet, from head to tail. As long as a station wagon. Far more beautiful, yes?

God designed them to hunt. Muscles of strength. Their body designed for agility and speed and stamina. You and I watch in awe, documentaries, as she silently stalks her prey. Even the bitter cold and frigid snow of her location, Siberia, is no barrier.

God, her creator, gave to her a thick, long coat. Winter boots, fit into her paws protect from the frigid snow. And silence her footsteps as she hunts for herself and her cubs.

God’s perfection, in the bitterness of the Arctic conditions of Siberia.

In the very likeness and image of God, He created mankind.

Man, woman and child have spread all over the globe and adapted. Mankind has evolved to live in environments inhospitable to our delicate and vulnerable bodies.

God-given instincts, capacities, gifts and abilities help us to survive and thrive.

God-given instincts, fall into three powerful categories:

  • Instinct to Survive — It is in everybody and every living being, both animal and plant life. Even in microscopic beings.
  • Instinct to Learn and to Know — It is a natural and in-born instinct in all people and in all animals.
  • Instinct to Lead — We are made in the image of God. Therefore, we all are born to lead. Not to dominate, to lead. There is a huge difference.

What to me is amazing about all these. They are God-given instincts.

We are all part of God’s world-wide team of leaders. You and I have a role to play. Leading His lost ones back to their Father, God. We, as leaders in our Lord’s team, are changing the world. From the darkness of sin. To the Light of His love. This, I believe, is the supreme/divine purpose behind all our instincts. A role of God's love we take seriously. For God is watching and waiting. Waiting and welcoming all to His Heavenly Kingdom.

All followers of Jesus, have a divine purpose. A purpose of love and of service to God. Our life is to be a global influence. One person at a time. To share the love of God the Father. To spread the “good news” of His Son, Jesus our Lord and our personal Savior. No better instinct has God given to all mankind. Than to love our Father and to be loved by God Almighty.

We have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. (1 John 4:16, ESV)

Siberian tigers are the only big cats known to thrive in snow and frigid conditions. They love being close to water and are excellent swimmers.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,

and do not lean on your own understanding. (Proverbs 3:5, ESV)

Your Word is a lamp to my feet,

and a Light to my path. (Psalm 119:105, ESV)

God has led us into days and places unknown. He has a divine purpose for each day. No where is new or strange to our Father. Each place, each destination, each new day is His creation. As we step bravely into each new day. God will provide. God the Holy Spirit will comfort, help and strengthen.

My help comes from the Lord, Who made Heaven and Earth. (Psalm 121:2, ESV)

Closed doors, our loving Father will open. If it is His will and purpose. Warmth, protection and shelter He will always provide. God, Himself is our dwelling place, our safety, our Home. We are not ignored, our prayers are heard. Are always answered, as we bravely face all challenges along God’s chosen path.

Call to Me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known. (Jeremiah 33:3, ESV)

Like the Siberian tiger is dressed by God, in a thick, warm coat against the elements. We are dressed in the love of God, our Heavenly Father. Our Lord is the Light in the darkness. He moves His Almighty Hand in protection. God moves as our constant shield, under which no foe can harm us.

I will greatly rejoice in the Lord;

my soul shall exult in my God,

for He has clothed me with the garments of salvation;

He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, (Isaiah 61:10a, ESV)

We give our God, our Lord all glory, praise and thanksgiving, every day, always.

Each Siberian tiger is an individual. Her uniqueness, as diverse as a human fingerprint. Her stripes are unique to her, and have no copy.

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,

and before you were born I consecrated you;

appointed you a prophet to the nations. (Jeremiah 1:5, ESV)

God created each tiger with a personality of her own. So that she would fit in with His plan and purpose for her.

This is so for all true and faithful believers. You are an individual. With different characteristics, gifts and talents. You have a role to play in God’s drama. As a servant of God, you use the tools He gave to you, to serve and to faithfully obey Him. As a carpenter uses wood, nails and all other tools to build. God uses you to build His Kingdom and to serve Him.

We prize our uniqueness, our place, our role in God’s Heavenly Kingdom. The tools, gifts and blessings our Fathers has granted, we use for His glory. We work daily to increase the numbers of people in His Kingdom. His Holy Name we praise, and we worship. Our deepest desire is not one of His people miss out on living forever in His Heavenly Kingdom.

God uses our diversity, as a potter uses clay. Some, He turns into items that are treasured and prized. Are stored in National archives and museums and cathedrals. His saints. Others, such as myself. Become common household items. Cups and saucers, etc. Used to hold and spread the Holy Word of God. To share the love of Jesus with family, friends and those in need of God’s tenderness and compassion. To be washed, dried and re-used time and time again.

Each time we are needed. Our Heavenly Father gives these common utensils the words and love necessary to shine. To shine His Light into the darkness of people’s hearts. We may just show a creation of God her way Home.

Conclusion.

  • We, like the Siberian tiger. Are beautiful, magnificent and wondrous creations of a loving God.
  • Mankind can survive and thrive with the love of God, our Father, our Creator.
  • God uses our uniqueness to share His love with the world. To spread the “good news” of Jesus.
  • All true and faithful believers are His obedient servants.
