From Unemployed to SEO Guru: My Journey to the SEO Expert

Two years. That's how long the "job hunt blues" had me in its grip. Every rejection email felt like a punch to my face, leaving me questioning my skills and purpose. I was university graduate and living in Pakistan which is the country where finding job is not so easy. I applied for tons of jobs but failed because of lack of experience and a lot of competition.

Then one of my family friend who was living in UK tried to help and asked me to apply for student visa so that i may get good job after graduating from there. I was happy and started the visa process as i was topper in my university class and i was also getting an opportunity where i was sponsored by my family friend.

I started completing the document checklist and in gather all the required documents. After that i applied in a University of Stirling and secured a seat their. Soon, I received a mail about the confirmation of studies letter and it was the letter that assured my student visa.

I went for biometric and came home and i was happy that i finally i was able to move out of this country. But on the other hand the home office didn't respond me as their response is very obvious after biometric.

I was worried a lot and did an enquiry to check the visa status. After the enquiry i was told that decision has been made and i will receive an email soon. I was happy again that i am about to move out but suddenly at night an email appeared infront of my eyes from home office. It was a visa refusal email and when i first saw it i didn't believe it because everything was going fine. I can't tell in how many pieces i was shattered that night and when i looked for the reason it showed that my financial institution didn't respond to home office to verify my bank statement. I didn't sleep the whole night but i was left with no other option except of moving on.

I was still sad and my whole family because it was my and my family’s dream that a person from this family may get education from a foreign country and make career their. But, sadly it didn't happen. Soon after, I realised i have to improve my skills in order to survive in this country where even a software engineer cannot earn more than 7000$ per year.

It was during this period of uncertainty that I stumbled upon the world of SEO (Search Engine Optimization). However, the road to becoming an SEO expert wasn't paved with gold. Resources were very limited and i had no money in my pocket, and the cost of formal education seemed insurmountable. But I wasn't one to give up easily. I decided to take a leap of faith, borrowing money from a friend to invest in online courses and SEO certifications. Every late night spent taking online classes and watching youtube tutorials and every frustrated yell at a complex algorithm fueled my determination.

I established my social media profiles and started projects like blogging sites. I also start my profile on multiple freelancing platforms to offer my services. The turning point came when a young Pakistani entrepreneur reached out to me. His dream was to establish himself in the booming solar panel industry, and he needed my help in designing his website and rank it on Google. This was my chance to prove myself, not just to him, but to myself.

Diving deep into the world of solar panels and SEO best practices, I didn't even know what is solar panels and how it works but i did research day and night to make comprehensive strategy for that guy . It involved keyword research, on-page optimisation, and building backlinks from relevant websites. With each positive change in website ranking, my confidence grew.

Seeing the website climb the search engine ladder was a moment of immense satisfaction. It was almost a month after launching the website and it was not just growing but it was almost flying. My project website completed 10K clicks in 28 days. It wasn't just about the first project milestone; it was the validation of my journey. It was generating 10 to 15 leads per day and getting orders from all over the country. As i was well paid by the owner and then I also became the partner of this business.

Today, I stand as a co-founder of this business and enjoying the profits from it without investing too much. We are generating record sales as this business is at it's peak in Pakistan.

Now, I'm not just an SEO expert; I'm a digital marketing consultant and blogger. My passion is helping businesses like Solar Panels Pakistan to make their earnings even more better. My story serves as a reminder that even during the most challenging times, there's always a path to success. All it takes is a little sunshine, some grit, and a willingness to learn.
