Don’t Give Up! Here’s Why

For life in general or for any goals you want to reach, they’re worth going after. Don’t give up, and here’s why:

The number one reason is to remember that painful experiences are there to help us grow stronger. When you’re in the gym, and you’re lifting weights for the first time, it hurts. Your muscles are being trained for something they’ve never experienced before. Little by little, they’re getting stronger the more you push through it. If you keep lifting yourself up throughout life, through every challenge, motivating yourself and speaking to yourself like you’re your own best friend, you will get stronger.

Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well (Matthew 6:33). Where there is God, there is hope for a brighter and better future. When you have something to look forward to, you’re not dwelling so much on the now and you’re running towards your goal. If you keep God at the forefront of that goal while you put in the work, (faith without works is dead - James 2:17) then everything will align in your favor.

Always remember, you’re never alone. One of the beautiful things about social media is that you can be motivated by someone going through a similar situation that you are going through. There are many people that tell true stories in which you realize that you’re not alone. Certain things have to happen in your life to strengthen you, grow you, and make you a better person. It is because we have so many similarities that we can rely on each other.

Don’t be afraid to ask for help. There have been times in my life where I felt like I could handle it all by myself, I didn't need any help, and I could have kept being independent. I didn’t want to bother anyone. But it’s important to remember that we can’t do life by ourselves. At some point, we’ll need each other. Adam couldn’t do life without Eve, Eve couldn’t do life without Adam, and neither could do life without God. Asking for help, admittedly, may seem like the weak thing to do, but in reality, it just means you’re human. You need that little boost of energy and inspiration to keep on keeping on to your goals. There’s nothing wrong with that!

Remember, God is close to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:8). When we feel at our lowest, loneliest points in life, that’s when God draws in the closest. He wraps you in His arms, and He never wants you to feel like you’re alone. You may be lonely, but you’re never alone. It’s in His strength that you will learn how to build yourself up to everything you’re meant to be. In order to reach your fullest potential, your God given destination, you have to learn to rely on the beautiful people God has placed in your life to help you.

Although God is close to you when you’re heartbroken, it doesn’t mean you can’t reach out to someone trustworthy to help you when you feel like giving up. This world is full of great and not so great people. When you feel like quitting, be sure to reach out to those who are in your circle; quality over quantity is key! I’d rather have four honest, loyal people in my corner than several deceitful ones who pray for my downfall.

You’re much closer to your breakthrough than you think! For example, in the past I’ve tried to lose weight. Here and there I ate the right foods, I worked out, yet I didn’t get the results that I wanted. So, I pulled myself together and gave it everything I had to give. I stepped on the scale, and that time, I finally saw that I'd reached the goals I was desiring to reach the first time. In between those moments of trying, failing and trying again, I learned, grew and I knew just how to take my goals more seriously.

This is what I’m telling you: No matter the goal, imagine if you would have given up the first time; you would not have seen how close you were to your breakthrough, you would not have learned the lessons it taught you, and it would have been harder to power through to your goals.

To sum this all up: giving up, giving in, letting the negative thoughts win, all that means is your cheating on yourself our of your full potential.

Please don't do that.

You're amazing! We need your gifts, your talents and your love.

No one else can give it in the way that you do.

You are YOU and only YOU! That is your power. Lean into that strength.

MESSAGE FROM THE AUTHOR:

Remember not to overwhelm yourself with too much at one time. Take it one step, one moment at a time. Before you know it, you'll look back and realize that you've climbed the mountaintop!
