Take Care of YOU

Goodbye 2023, Hello 2024

Just like that, 2023 is over and done with. Thank goodness! I feel 2023 has truly been full of challenges, obstacles, goals, and accomplishments. We have been through the whole ride on a rollercoaster that I was ready to jump off of! This year, we will make 2024 worth our dreams and hustle.

1) Focus on Your Finances: We all have been through the struggles, but this year, you need to take control of your finances. Let's work on credit, savings, and being debt free. Pick a 2 digit number and when you see that number on a dollar bill, save it. Then look at the number beside your 2 digit number and save that many as well. For example, my 2 digit number is 76. If I have a dollar bill that has, "765", I would save that dollar and add 5 more along with it. Trust me, it works.

2) Focus on Your Mental Health: Don't be afraid to speak up and ask for help! You may feel alone, but there are so many like you that just need that extra TLC. Make an appointment today and get everything checked. Sometimes your mental health can be due to an unknown illness. We are in this together and 2024 will be the year you overcome this.

3) Meditate: I have found that listening to rain sounds, ASMR eating (weird, I know), and just driving in my car with no music or interaction has helped me calm my mind down. It helps me come back down to earth, after drifting away in my thoughts. Ten minutes a day will keep the pain away! So MEDITATE!

4) Prioritze Your Fitness: It's easy for influencers to tell you to go to the gym and lift weights. Blah, blah, blah. It is easy for them, but this does not mean you have to dedicate your time going to the gym if you do not enjoy it. You can find a hobby that works for you! For me, I do not like lifting weights, trying to dogde all the tripods in the gym, or trying to "fit in." Instead, I dedicate my time to being outdoors. You could walk at the park, hike trails, bicycle, jog outside, play sports, or much more! Take the time to try out different hobbies that works for YOU and take care of your body!

5) Eat Better: Now who doesn't love to come home after work and eat some of your favorite chips while watching a movie? I would be crazy to same this isn't one of my favorite things to do, but it is. I am finding that the chips are causing me to be more unhealthy. Instead, try to meal prep some yummy snacks! Not everything has to be unhealthy for you. I personally love to make a chocolate protein smoothie to help the cravings go away.

6) Love Yourself: Let's face it, you can't depend on others to love you. Regardless of your relationship status, you HAVE to always put yourself first. If you are not in the best relationship, at a toxic work environment, or surrounded by mean people, CUT IT OFF. You should not ignore your gut and choose to make others feel happy. This is something that I struggle with myself. I want to make others happy, because this makes me happy. Not realizing I become the worst version of me. Remember what makes you happy.

All together, choose to make YOU the best version of yourself this year. Don't let anyone make this a year you'll be ready to finish, when it just started.
