Do you want a secure job for rest of your life? Do you aim for risk-free business? Do you want to live a stable life? We all want to have a life with no struggle at all. See your past life and tell me if you ever found a person who has done that?

If you want to see yourself at a position where everything is favourable, you would not be able to find it in the entire your life. No matter how wealthy and blessed a person is, there would be some challenges in his or her life. We do not realize but most of the time challenges are merely a form of change.

“Progress is impossible without change, and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything.” ~ George Bernard Shaw (1856-1950) Irish writer

Things keep changing. You will found something new to deal with throughout your life. If you want to get going, you need to learn how to adapt those changes and challenges. You cannot always change circumstances. However, you can learn how to live with high spirit in any situation.

Our mind is so powerful that it can always find a way. We should be open to change the way of thinking. The ultimate goal of our life is to keep moving forward with better choices. As Alison Gopnik said, “The brain is highly structured, but it is also extremely flexible. It’s not a blank slate, but it isn’t written in stone, either.”

Let us see how to be flexible to cope up with life transformations.

Change is Constant:

The only constant thing in life is change. No matter how big corporation you are working for, you will face new responsibilities with the time. You have a happy family, but you will see changes in traditions while your kids are growing. Your company is dominating in the industry; you will find competitions with the time.

“No industry is immune and no occupation is safe. All of us need to begin to think in terms of our own inner strengths, our resilience and resourcefulness, our capacity to adapt and to rely upon ourselves and our families.” ~ Steven Pressfield

Not all changes are obstacles. Most of these obstacles simply push you out of your comfortable zone. It is essential to get out of your comfortable zone to keep moving with life. All life is like a journey. You always have scope to become better than what you already are. These life changes bring opportunities to get the best of you.

Be Flexible like Water:

Have you seen how water flows? Indeed, you know. No matter what comes into the path of water, it makes its own way. Be flexible like water. You cannot always choose your life events, but you can always be flexible to change your approach as per your conditions.

“It is not the strongest of the species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change.” ~ Charles Darwin (1809-1882) English Naturalist

When the water of river flows, it encounters barriers such as hills, stones and pebbles along the way. First, it tries to take them away from his path with its power of range. However, if water does not able to throw it away, it does not stop there. It adjusts himself in another direction. This is the flexibility of water.

Flow like Water:

Flow like water while dealing with difficulties. Do not be so rigid to change your approach. It is good to be definite about your life goals but be flexible with your approach. If one path is not getting you there, try another. Keep going and keep flowing.

“Failed plans should not be interpreted as a failed vision. Visions don’t change, they are only refined. Plans rarely stay the same, and are scrapped or adjusted as needed. Be stubborn about the vision, but flexible with your plan.” ~ John C. Maxwell

Take another example. When the storm strikes jungle, not all trees survive equally. The trees that know how to bend stay alive while storm breaks down the rigid ones. I would like to end up this article with a nice quote about flexibility.

“Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless – like water. Now you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup, you put water into a bottle, it becomes the bottle, you put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Be water, my friend.” ~ Bruce Lee.
