There are qualities that are scarce, and have grown, perhaps, unfashionable, in recent times. We hear of course the importance of doggedness, how important it is to work hard, and how success is forever on the brink if only we do not stop pushing.

What we do not hear often, unfortunately, is the need for kindness. And there has been perhaps no greater time in need of kindness than now. This time of the year is perfect to reflect on kindness, and to think about ways we can become more kind people.

One way to become kinder is simply to start small. Kind words cost nothing but have the potential to make a big difference.

Here are seven quick tips to follow to be kinder:

1. Start by setting the intention to become kinder. Just like with any other goal, if you don’t have the intention to change, it will be difficult to do so.

2. Be more mindful of your words and actions. When you’re more aware of how you treat others, it will be easier to be kinder.

3. Smile more often. A smile is one of the simplest, most effective ways to show kindness to others.

4. Do something nice for someone without expecting anything in return. Acts of kindness can brighten someone’s day and make them feel appreciated.

5. Forgive others easily. Holding a grudge only burdens you and the other person. Instead, forgive others and let them move on with their life.

6. Spend more time helping people in need. There are always opportunities to help those who can’t help themselves; your kindness will be rewarded when they return the favor in another form.

7. Don’t be afraid to be kind to yourself. You can’t be kind to others if you’re not kind to yourself first.

Following these tips will help make you a more kind and compassionate person, which is something we could all use more of in today’s world.

Kindness is one of those qualities that is often underrated. We’ve become so focused on the importance of hard work and dogged determination that we’ve forgotten the value of kindness.

But kindness is one of the most important qualities a person can have. It not only makes the world a better place, but it also has many benefits for the person who possesses it.

When someone is kind to others, it makes the world a better place. It creates a more positive atmosphere and helps make the world a more pleasant place to live in.

When you are kind, you will be happier too. Kindness helps reduce stress and brings more positivity into your life. It also makes you feel better about yourself because it boosts your own self-esteem to know that you are making the world a better place.

Kindness, however, just like charity, can begin from home. Be kind to the ones you’ve got. No one is hardly ever immune to kindness.

Be kind to yourself. Afford yourself little favors. Loving and accepting oneself is the first step to accepting others. Afford yourself kindness. Afford yourself room for mistakes. And when other people make similar mistakes, you will learn to make room for them too.

The world is your mirror, others are you looking glass. When you smile at yourself, everything looks wonderful.
