6 Reasons You Aren't as Successful as You'd Like to Be

A blog around what you need to do to be successful.

Are you trying so hard, but not achieving the results you want? Maybe you’re like most people who try to improve their success by reading books and taking courses. But isn’t this too much effort and money in the long run? Is there a better way to succeed than simply doing things that make us comfortable?

Maybe your goal is simply to get out of debt. Instead of working all day just to pay off an unnecessary loan, take control of your finances and start paying down the amount you owe. Once you have paid off the loan, you can relax, use up some extra cash, and enjoy life! The same thing could be said with any other type of goal. If it feels uncomfortable, take time to examine why this situation or this goal is making you feel bad. Take stock of how well it serves your goals – and whether it is worth pursuing. If all else fails, just start again. And if you’re really feeling stuck today and ready for your next step, read on…

1) Set Clear Goals

If you want to achieve something great, it needs to have a specific purpose and a clear plan for getting there. What will that look like, and when? Make sure you have a strong idea and motivation for where you’re going to end up once you get there! Knowing exactly what you want to accomplish makes it easier for you to focus on your goals and execute them. It also sets you up for big successes if you don’t do it now.

2) Get Organized

You’ve got to know where everything goes. Your job, what you have to eat, even what clothes you wear. Even a small task at work has to have a place. Know your responsibilities and spend some time planning for each one. This helps keep everything organized because you have goals in mind. When you know everything, you’ll be able to create proper systems for accomplishing them.

3) Have Support From Others Who Understand You

If you are struggling through certain tasks, talk to someone who might be interested in helping you. There are many benefits to having support. Not only are they more likely to stay motivated and dedicated, they will also offer advice and insight. They can help you set yourself up for long-term success so you can truly enjoy the process. Remember, good things come from good people!

4) Use Rewards

A reward doesn’t always mean something tangible; it can also simply be time spent talking to others and enjoying life together. Whether it’s spending time with friends, learning new skills, playing video games/sports, watching TV, etc., reward yourself for doing these things! Spend time engaging with others instead of complaining about a terrible boss, boring coworkers, or a job that never seems to give you enough hours in a week. These days, everyone seems to have something going on. People often forget that we’re humans, and our daily lives just aren’t as busy as before. Reward yourself with activities that make you happy (even though you haven’t accomplished anything yet). By doing this, you'll find yourself reaching bigger goals without much effort. Don't waste time stressing over meaningless things and living under the belief that you aren't good enough. Everyone needs to grow, and to that end, we should always strive for excellence, even after putting in years of dedication and hard work.

5) Embrace Failure, Then Do Harder Things Next Time

It doesn’t matter how smart you are or how talented you are, sometimes being mediocre will ultimately result in a positive outcome. Learn from those failures, be open to change, and move forward with determination. Although you may feel bad about it, failure will bring improvement and experience to every single aspect of your life. Think of quitting smoking, giving up drinking, saying “no” to toxic relationships, becoming a better cook, or starting a business. Every time you fail, you’re actually building upon your previous efforts and experiences. Each new challenge will make it easy for you to work hard again the following day. So don’t hold back

6) Create Great Habits For Making New Changes In Life

When you begin with a new attitude and approach, it will help you maintain that mindset even after moving away from old habits. Creating great habits is a great way to build a healthy lifestyle and to become a consistent achiever. While it's never too late to start a new routine or to learn a new skill, here are a few ways to encourage more consistency in your schedule:

Schedule your workout or morning bike ride around your favorite times daily

Schedule your dinner in the exact same hour at the restaurant and leave an empty room for exercise

-Schedule your bedtime at the same time every night

-Schedule your workout at the gym near the same time twice per week

-Schedule your meetings the same time of day no matter what

-Schedule regular workouts no matter what time of day

-Schedule your meals around the same time each week regardless of whether you're eating lunch, dinner, or breakfast

-Schedule a nightly walk, evening activity, or run throughout the entire month of the year

-Schedule your exercise class early and in the morning

-Schedule your sleep early and in the evening

-Schedule your gym visits at the right time during the week based on your fitness level

Apply a few of these and you see yourself achieving the success that you ever wanted.
