Prostatitis is one of the most common diseases in adult men, and about 50% of men will be affected by this disease at some point in their lives. Urination discomfort, pain around the pelvis, and sexual dysfunction are the three most prominent symptoms of prostatitis.

However, some prostatitis patients also experience symptoms of groin soreness. What is this?

The groin area also refers to the thigh root area, the body part where a person's lower extremities are connected to the torso. Due to the stimulation of local inflammation, the pain of prostatitis can cause radiating pain or pulling pain, which in most cases can radiate to the root of the thigh and the sacral pelvic area, thereby causing pain.

In the case of chronic bacterial prostatitis, complications such as arthritis and neuritis can also manifest, which can also cause groin pain.

Furthermore, if men experience symptoms of pain such as aching and distention in the lower back, soreness at the root of the thigh, pain in the perineum, and a feeling of heaviness in the lower abdomen, it should also be considered that some tissues within the prostate have become stiff and hardened. Or a part may have developed calcification, compressing the nerves, causing symptoms of irritation in the nerve reflex zones of the prostate, thereby leading to localized pain symptoms.

Therefore, patients experiencing pain in the groin need to be given high priority for prompt diagnosis and aggressive treatment.

When it comes to the treatment of groin pain caused by prostatitis, the majority of patients are usually cured as far as the prostatitis is concerned.

In addition to triggering groin pain, prostatitis may also lead to perineal pain, frequent urination, urinary urgency and other urinary abnormalities, sexual dysfunction, and systemic symptoms such as chills, fever, fatigue, and others, and may even produce acute urinary retention. Therefore, patients should take treatment measures immediately and not procrastinate.

The main treatment methods are the following four categories:

1. Use of Anti-Inflammatory Drugs: Anti-inflammatory drugs are effective in treating inflammation, but their use can have a health impact on the patient's body. Therefore, doctors do not recommend patients to take such drugs for a long time. Otherwise, it will produce dependence on the drug, and the effect of the drug will be reduced.

2. Antimicrobial therapy: Antibacterial treatment can effectively remove some germs in the prostate. However, before using antibacterial drugs, it is necessary to examine the patient's prostate to determine the specific causes of prostate inflammation and then select the appropriate antibacterial drugs.

3. Traditional Chinese Medicine Treatment: Because the prostate has a thick membrane, many drugs can not penetrate, resulting in only eliminating the surface of the lesions; the relief of symptoms is only temporary. Traditional Chinese medicine Diuretic and Anti-inflammatory Pill can enter the inner membrane, and treatment of prostate deep lesions can get better results.

4. Surgical Treatment: Surgery is the fastest way to remove the lesion, but it is difficult to protect the male reproductive function. Therefore, patients with less severe conditions should give priority to drug treatment.

There is also a tiny part; although the prostatitis is completely healed, the thigh root has been painful. This time we have to go to find some other reasons.

Besides prostatitis, thigh root soreness can also be related to rheumatic and lumbar spine diseases. Therefore, before treatment, patients must determine whether the cause is prostatitis and then take targeted measures to treat it.

Warm Tips: Prostatitis can cause soreness in the groin. However, there can be other factors. Hence, patients should go to the hospital for examination in time and take suitable treatment measures according to their conditions and doctors' opinions, to restore their health as soon as possible.
