Do you usually feel tired? No matter how much you sleep or how much coffee you drink, throughout the day you feel fatigued.

It's very normal, and it's not just a sign that you're getting old. It is a very common problem in adolescents, young adults, and older people.

They say that young people are full of energy, but why do I need to sleep 2 hours after lunch?

These are possible reasons why you feel tired all the time and what to do about it.

1. You are not eating enough calories

Calories are units of energy found in food.

It is like the fuel our body needs every day. Usually a minimum of 1200 calories a day is needed.

However, that number varies depending on age, gender, and daily activity. A person with a fast pace of life needs more calories than someone sedentary.

Start to control the number of calories you are eating. You can use apps that track calories with each meal to make it easier.

2. You are dehydrated

Being dehydrated is much more common than you think. Are you sure you are drinking enough water?

The number of glasses of water that we should drink also varies for each person, but most people do not have the habit of drinking water.

For this, you can use water bottles with measures throughout the day. That way, you can monitor how much water you are drinking.

You are likely dehydrated right now, which is why you are tired. Go drink water!

3. You eat too many refined carbohydrates and sugars

Refined carbs and sugars work a bit like calories. They are sources of energy, but they are much more explosive and immediate.

When you consume them, you can feel energetic for a while, the problem is when the effect passes. When this happens, we feel fatigued and more tired than normal.

Eating a lot of refined carbs and sugars, in the long run, keeps us in a tired state.

4. You don't sleep when you should

Obviously, if you don't get enough sleep, you will feel tired when you wake up. But it's not just about getting enough hours of sleep, it's about sleeping when it's appropriate.

If you tend to go to bed very late or nap during the day, you may be messing up your circadian cycle.

This cycle regulates sleep and our energy during the day. Sleeping in the sun and doing activities that require attention at night send confusing signals to our cycle.

That is why you feel highly energetic at 2 AM and at noon you fall asleep at your desk.

5. You depend a lot on coffee and energy drinks

Caffeine is a great source of immediate energy, the problem is that by consuming too much of it, we become desensitized.

Each time you will need to drink more coffee to have the same effects. As with any substance dependence.

When caffeine leaves our body, our brain sends signals that make us feel exhausted. Therefore, by drinking a lot of coffee and energy drinks, these effects of fatigue are prolonged.

Avoid having these drinks for a while. Try it for a few days or a week.
