To my Celtic folk, magic wheeldiers, and pagans of all kinds Welcome!

In this article, we dive not into the horoscopes of Celtic mythology or modern-day mythology and the magic of finding out what your horoscope is especially if your horoscope is between October 28 to November 24 so here we go.

So to explain a lot of celts love trees like a loooot so much so they have 13 lunar calendars, and if that doesn't scream tree hugger I don't know what does. The Celtic Zodiac is drawn from the beliefs of the Druids and is based on the cycles of the moon. The year is divided into 13 lunar months, with a tree (sacred to the druids) assigned to each month

So naturally, each month had a tree corresponding to the month during this time period your tree would be Reed

Each tree has particular magical qualities whose secret mysteries come from the ancient shamanic alphabet, the Ogram. The origin of this Tree Alphabet is ascribed to the God of Poetry and Eloquence of Celtic Ireland, Ogam. He is also known as the Celtic Herkules. The Druids were Celtic priests who inhabited much of Western Europe, Britain, and Ireland until they were supplanted by the Roman government and, later, by the arrival of Christianity. Some renowned Celtic scholars also noticed, thanks to their vast understanding, that Celtic astronomy paralleled the Vedics. They discovered that the ancient Celtic astrologers used similar systems as those of the Vedic astrologers.

Now Going onto Reed, In the eyes of the Druids, Reed is known for being an Inquisitor.

Reed signs among the Celtic tree astrology signs are the secret keepers. You dig deep inside to the real meaning of things and discover the truth hidden beneath layers of distraction. When there is a need to get to the heart of the matter, most certainly the Reed sign will find the core. You love a good story and can be easily drawn in by gossip, scandals, legend, and lore. These tendencies also make you an excellent historian, journalist, detective, or archaeologist. You love people because they represent a diversity of meanings for you to interpret. You are adept at coaxing people to talk to you, and sometimes you can be a bit manipulative. However, you have a strong sense of truth and honor so most of your scheming is harmless.

Now the Other part of horoscopes is Ogham, now some of you are probably looking at that word thinking I spelled it wrong but trust me it's not "Go Ham" Ogham is an Early Medieval alphabet used primarily to write the early Irish language (in the "orthodox" inscriptions, 4th to 6th centuries AD), and later the Old Irish language (scholastic ogham, 6th to 9th centuries). There are roughly 400 surviving orthodox inscriptions on stone monuments throughout Ireland and western Britain; the bulk of which are in southern Munster.[5] The largest number outside Ireland is in Pembrokeshire, Wales. Now keep in mind I know I said Early Medival and not further keep in mind, many of the celts and druids stopped scribing around the 4th to maybe later toward the 6th century because of the conversion to Christianity many were persecuted and or got lost in translation with Latin, but one thing for sure each month had a tree and an ogham to go with it and for Reed, the Ogham looked like this.

It symbolizes that Ng, or nGeatal, is the Reed that grows straight and tall at the riverside. Long ago, it was considered the perfect wood for arrows because it was so perfectly formed. Symbolic of music and flutes, the Reed indicates direct action and finding purpose in your journey. It is connected with health and healing, and with gatherings of family and friends. Now when this symbol appears in Normal mundane life, it's time to take on a leadership role. Often, it indicates a need to rebuild that which was destroyed. Use your skills and ability to put things in order, and guide situations onto the right track. Think before you act, and be proactive rather than reactive. In a more magical appearance, although you may encounter some bumpy spots in the road, ultimately your spiritual journey will be a fruitful and productive one. Understand that the lessons you learn on your way are equally as important–maybe even more so–as the destination itself.

Now the next part of the horoscope is what color corresponds to and that is the color red. Red has come to mean beauty, love, strength, energy, courage, career, goals, power, and willpower. Red is the color most associated with the South direction. Also in Celtic lore when doing a handfasting Red symbolizes passion, fertility, lust, and strength. Red is mostly found associated with the Goddess and I mean many Goddess that is associated with Red. Aodh, who is a Fire Goddess, and her sacred candle color is red, not very well known but still commonl\y I found her. Another very very well known is Brigit Goddes of fire, wisdom, poetry, and sacred wells. she is a deity associated with prophecy, divination, and healing. and her candle colors are both red and white. Now last but not least is Morrigan. Known for being a triple goddess she is a war-goddess of death and destruction, and mother of all Irish gods. As Trinity she is called Macha when she worked magick with the blood of the slain; Babd when she appeared in the form of a giantess to men before battle; and Neman when she appeared as a shapeshifting crone. Her sacred colors are red but scarlet and black.

Now leaving this part behind I will go more in-depth about each of these goddesses but I will move forward.

The next part is your animal correspondents which are the Hound and Owl. Now to start with Hound, Hounds were dogs well respected by royalty and warriors, they were given as gifts to men of honor and many warriors and chiefs took the name as a title to show their loyalty and courage. When I was searching for Celtic memorabilia I stumbled across this very pretty yet not very thick in fabric had hints of hounds in yellow. Most if not all Gods and goddesses are associated with Hounds and or dogs. that they are a mainstay in Irish and Celtic mythology there are so many iconographies about dogs there is even a drachma coin with a dog on hades himself. So I think it's safe to say the celts are #teamdog all the way. One of the most important sacred aspects of dogs in Celtic culture was its close association with healing. In the area inhabited by celts.

The other animal associated with this time is Owls. Owls are known to mean Wisdom, Mystery, Transition, Messages, Intelligence, Mysticism, Protection, and Secret. This list along with many pop culture references best describes what owls are, and what they represent. If you think of Wan Shi Tong, Mrs. Owl, Kaepora Geabora, Hedwig, Duo, Rowlet, Budo, Owl, Archimedes, X the Owl, Big Mama, The Great Owl, Blathers, and Clockwork all are associated with Wisdom, Messages, or Mystery. But Owls in Celtic lore and Transitioning, are all about transporting your soul to your final space or even freeing your soul from its earthly form. One Goddess, I found that The word "cailleach" in the Scottish-Gaelic means old woman!, "coileach-oidhche" is the word for owl, believe it or not it means "night-cockerel"! These birds were most often associated with the Crone aspect of the Goddess. The owl is often a guide to and through the Underworld, a creature of keen sight in darkness, and a silent and swift hunter. It can help unmask those who would deceive you or take advantage of you. Owls are believed to have played a more prominent role in early Celtic cults, and could perhaps have derived from a more broadly based deity of a common European descent. Predating the Greek cult of Athene, for whom the owl was an animal attribute, were images of these mysterious birds in Celtic lands. Owls are believed to be a sacred animal to the famed Cult of the Head. They often appear with human heads and with bovines, such as rams and bulls, all of which have been determined by scholars to be objects of this strange cult. In modern Scottish and Welsh languages, the owl, by the etymology of the word alone carries negative connotations of death and darkness. Then, in later Gallo-Roman times the Owl lost its cult significance, but has been linked to a Celtic goddess associated with fertility.

But Ill digress, now the last piece of the puzzle with the horoscope is that of the gemstone associated with it. Jasper stands for satisfaction. Jaspers have been revered by ancient peoples and civilizations throughout the world as sacred and powerful stones of protection, for both the physical and spiritual realm. They were known as the “rain bringers” and nurturers, healers of the spirit and stones of courage and wisdom.Historically, Jasper is traceable to all ancient peoples and civilizations. Worn by shamans, priests and kings, it was considered sacred and a powerful protection stone, for both the physical world and inside the spiritual realm. The Ancients believed Jasper to encourage gentleness, aids in relaxation, enhances the ability to feel tranquility and wholeness. In Ireland the City of Kilkenny is often referred to as “The Marble City”.Jasper encourages gratitude, something that is widely held to be extremely beneficial to our mental health. Many of us struggle with the concept of gratitude when we are feeling overwhelmed or badly treated. Jasper can help us to find the little things we need to be grateful for.Jasper is a good stone to have near you if you feel that things are becoming overwhelming, or that you are close to burning out.Jasper is a balancing stone and can help you to put down any burdens you may be shouldering that are not yours to carry. It helps clear the mind and is a powerful protector against negative feelings, moods, and vibrations.
