Nowadays, vaping seems to be the in-thing as several people, especially young individuals, often consume vaping products from time to time. However, it is worthwhile to understand that vaping products can have a significant impact on your health. Given this, there are some of the things you need to know about vaping as regards its health implications.

What does vaping mean?

Vaping refers to the use of e-cigarettes, which are products meant for heating a liquid into an aerosol that individuals can inhale. A vaporizer can come in handy for consuming vaping products. In general, the liquid in these electronic cigarettes often comprises vegetable glycerine, nicotine, flavoring, propylene glycol.

Although these substances are generally safe, it is worthwhile to understand the heating of some of these liquids can produce other chemicals that may be unhealthy. The harmful chemicals that can be produced during heating include aluminum, formaldehyde, nickel, and other toxins.

Vaping is not entirely safe

Foremost, vaping is not as harmful as smoking. However, it is not entirely safe as there are some health risks that it poses. The traditional tobacco cigarettes are believed to have about 7,000 chemicals and the majority of them can cause health problems.

Electronic cigarettes, on the other hand, don’t contain as many chemicals; however, they have enough to cause negative effects on the body. As found by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in January 2020, vaping may be responsible for some cases of deaths and lung injuries.

Addiction is a major problem with vaping

As mentioned earlier, nicotine is one of the main ingredients of both regular cigarettes and e-cigarettes. According to the results of various studies, nicotine is very addictive. Unfortunately, some vaping product users obtain more nicotine from the products than they would have gotten from regular tobacco cigarettes. Therefore, you are likely going to be addicted to e-cig as much as you can be to normal tobacco cigs.

In addition, nicotine can make you crave smoking different products. If you want to ignore the craving, you can experience a wide range of withdrawal symptoms.

Vaping can be harmful to your lungs and heart

Again, nicotine is one of the main chemicals responsible for the possible effects of vaping on your lungs and heart. Simply put, nicotine can lead to a sharp rise in your blood pressure. It can also increase your adrenaline level. Resultantly, your heart rate can increase; thus, putting you at risk of a heart attack.

Furthermore, studies have shown that vaping may be associated with asthma, chronic lung disease, and other respiratory problems. Vaping has also been linked to an array of cardiovascular diseases.

Vaping is not recommended for those trying to quit smoking

Typically, many people often consider vaping as a better and safer alternative to smoking traditional cigarettes. In fact, vaping is sometimes seen as a smoking cessation tool. However, they have not been approved by the Food and Drug Administration or other established organizations as a smoking cessation tool. This is primarily because of the nicotine that it contains, which can make vaping become another source of addiction for a person.

Apart from the health implications of vaping, it should be noted that the number of young people taking vaping products is growing at an alarming rate. Vaping has become an alternative to traditional cigarettes for many youths.

From the points listed above, it is obvious that vaping is just as toxic to your health as traditional cigarettes. So, if you are truly concerned about your health, you should have a second thought before getting addicted to it.
