How the Wisdom of Confucius Can Help You Be Less of a Jerk
I’m sure you’re a pretty nice person. I like to think that I am too. But sometimes I let myself justify getting pretty snippy with the customer service rep - like it’s her fault that Comcast is stupid. Other times I find myself muttering under my breath when my kids eat graham crackers in my unmade bed, or I let a friend’s Facebook post piss me off for the rest of the day. Nobody’s perfect, but if you feel your inner Hulk bursting out in a rage every time the wind doesn’t blow your way, it might be time to try walking a more peaceful path. Let the Great Sage (aka Confucius) help you get there. He’s famous for little snippets of wisdom that can sound like they came out of a fortune cookie - until you look deeper. Sometimes a simple phrase can help you see things differently and make keeping your cool a little easier. Feel free to scrawl any of these on a post-it note or make them the background on your lock screen. If they really change your life, they might even make it onto a canvas you can look at every night as you fall asleep. Hopefully, you’ll be sleeping more peacefully when you’re treating others in a way that makes you both feel great.

Have you ever stopped to think about the details of life we take for granted in our everyday lives? Probably not. Most people never really know why our world is the way it is. They just think it’s that way. Many do not realize how our Earth really functions, or how roads and cities were made. Ask a person on the street what it takes for a car to move, you’ll get a blank stare or get an answer like: "you push your foot to the gas, duh." Or did you know Russia’s landmass is bigger than all of Pluto? Many people don't don't really know how or why the world works. But if you do, you’re part the 1 percent that does, so read this list with pride. But if you are like the rest of us, get ready to be astonished by all the facts about life you never knew.

Positive Effects of a Horrible Lifestyle
Life is full of vices. If you go through your day, how many things do you do that you could probably do differently or better? Do you park as close as you can to where you need to go or do you give yourself the opportunity to take a bit of a walk? Do you purchase a candy bar from the vending machine or do you take the time to pack yourself some healthy snacks? Pick you nose when no one is watching? Pass gas when you think no one can hear or smell? So let's say that you do a whole a range of 'horrible things.' Let's say that you are the picture of 'sloth'....what would happen if you found out that some of the unhealthy things you do, could actually be pretty positive in the long term? That would probably make you feel much better about yourself and there is nothing wrong with that. So yell at your boss, put your feet up, unwrap that Twinkie and let's see how right all of your wrong doings actually are.

It is estimated that 10 million Americans, men and women, suffer from eating disorders. Eating disorders refer to conditions which involve various abnormal eating habits which range from eating too little food to eating enormously large amounts of food. Many people have encountered the two most common eating disorders, bulimia nervosa and anorexia nervosa. Bulimia nervosa is a condition where an individual eats a lot of food but of which is later vomited so that the person gets rid of the food from their body. Anorexia nervosa, on the other hand, will involve an individual limiting their usual food intake.

Growing up, nutrition was not an elemental part of my life. I was an athlete, going from school to travel soccer practice to AAU basketball practice every night since elementary school, and I consumed what I wanted indiscriminately. Not to say that my parents raised us on fast food, but we definitely hit up the usual chains between extracurricular activities. Also, the adolescent palette seems to favor chicken tenders and spaghetti over just about anything.

What is Reiki Healing?
Energy medicine has been used to treat ailments in Eastern cultures for thousands of years. While there are many variations of energy healing, one specific one has been becoming more and more popular: Reiki. What is Reiki healing? The word Reiki is derived from two Japanese words: rei, meaning universal, and ki, meaning life energy. Current Reiki practice can be traced to the spiritual teachings in Japan during the early 20th century. These teachings included meditative techniques and healing practices. The healing practices were further developed, placing less emphasis on the meditative techniques. Reiki was introduced to Western cultures in the late 1930's.
