Now Is The Time For Your Body's Rebirth

Given the current happenings, many of us are being pushed to reflect, re-evaluate and change. This time indoors will be triggering coping mechanisms around our consumption of food, and how we have used food to numb, suppress or cover-up a deeper, more emotional and metaphysical need.

This is a perfect time to achieve a radical shift in our relationship with self-nurturance and our emotional connections with sustenance. I am someone who the above applies to and so these past few weeks have been a choice point between mastery or repetition. After choosing mastery, I have spent the past 4 days fasting + detoxing with the assistance of plant medicine. This is not my first fast or detox, but it will be the last in the battle of overcoming compulsive behaviours.

Western medicine would have you believe that the cure always lies outside of yourself. This is not the Truth. Science is now *confirming* that more often than not the solution lies within.

It is a case of mass miseducation that has caused society to see detoxing as a luxurious concept, one rooted in *aspirational* self care (see:expensive). Detoxing is viable for everyone regardless of your economic means or societal class. There’s no need to buy into *aspirational* brands or programs. Start with some research and self-exploration to see what resonates and what’s best for your current starting point and needs.

Highly recommend looking into the relationship between autophagy (the body’s ability to self-heal) and fasting. Intermittent fasting is a great starting point for those unsure or fearful of the fasting concept.

Fasting is not starvation, fasting is allowing the body and the digestive system to take a pause from 24hr consumption of the external, so it may begin to clean and heal the internal.
