For Christmas this year I was very lucky to receive three new oracle decks as gifts. I used two of them for this reading and will be using the third for a special February love reading. Connecting with my decks is a fun and intuitive process, and it’s just as fun to find the ways the cars complement each other. Below you’ll find how things turned out.

I used TERRA Oracle, “It’s a Sign!” deck, and Literary Witches Oracle for this reading. This is a collective and timeless reading, so any time this finds you, the messages herein will still be relevant. You can scroll down to your sun sign, and those of your loved ones, and if you know more of your astrology chart, you can read for your Big 3, Big 4 or any of your significant placements.

Take a look at the quote, keywords, and images for your readings, they may come up for you in unexpected ways.

CAPRICORN

The Rooster — “Time to get creative” — Bees (togetherness, work, treasures)

What are you trying to protect and what are you afraid of losing? Sometimes we subconsciously hold onto things that no longer serve us because they are rooted in our routines. Going into the new year, sit down and assess your routine, and see what may need to change to support your goals. Who and what needs less or more attention? Consider the things and people who make you feel the most connected and supported, and which drain your energy. How can you balance your responsibilities with what restores your spirit? These choices might be difficult and you might need to set boundaries with yourself and others, so be kind to yourself. These changes are meant to be sustainable and build more security in your life.

AQUARIUS

The Scarab — “Shut up and listen” — Anais Nin (the unexplored, submerging, surfacing)

It’s time to get out of your own way and tune into the beauty and inspiration around you. What is lacking in your creative life? Even if you are not in a creative field, what simple pleasures spark inspiration for you, that uplift you? Music, art (in all its abundance), theatre, poetry? In the new year, it’s time to reconnect with your creativity, it’s time to reach outside of the box and be rewarded for the new ways of thinking you will be graced with. Everyone has a sense of creativity and it is important to nurture, you’d be surprised just how much it can benefit you.

PISCES

Tasmanian Devil — “Don’t question it?” — Yumiko Kurahashi (masks, becoming, play)

Have you been too quick to judge? Something in your life may need to be reevaluated this new year. Hasty decisions based on preconceived notions mean you aren’t getting the full picture of something. Are you willing to take another look and reconsider? Fun isn’t just for kids, and adults need to be able to play too, so in your decision-making process, take a look at what might bring you some fun along the journey. Asking the right questions is an important skill, but don’t stall by asking too many. Evaluate with an open mind and get started.

ARIES

The Pelican — “Let’s stop here” — Mushrooms (quiet growth, the hidden, peace)

Are you aware of your limitations, and are you willing to push yourself to find them? You need to expand your comfort zone and confidently determine where your limits lie. It is time to filter out the things you do not need and focus on the things that compel you. You are the curator of your life, make choices that foster your growth and your peace. Hoarding experiences, priorities, people, etcetera, will not serve you, it’s time to stop filling your plate with every little thing and start focusing on what nourishes you most.

TAURUS

Camel — “Hold still” — Walls (protection, obstacles, boundaries)

This new year won’t be a beginning, but a continuation of something. You are in a period of transition. Your challenge is to assess the journey so far and to make your preparations for the road ahead. What baggage are you holding onto that you do not need at this point? What new skills and tools do you need to help you succeed in the next leg of this adventure? This is a reminder that the process is as important, if not more, than the result. You want to give yourself the best shot of journeying sustainably, of carrying these skills into the next adventure, your growth is key. Obstacles are sure to arise, but you may be surprised just what you can overcome with the new things you have learned already, and how much faster and easier you overcame them compared to when you first started.

GEMINI

Hound — “It can be enough” — Creature’s Claws (the other, friendship, forgiveness)

Do you know what you’re in pursuit of, or are you in hot pursuit for the mere thrill of the chase? It is essential to know what you’re after, and many are just going through the motions, aimlessly. It is time to pause and take stock of things, has the scent gone cold? Is it time to find it again or move on to new things? It is important to know what and why you are pursuing something, it should be intentional and you should feel secure if not passionate about it. Forgive the people who may not be supportive of your goals, they probably want the best for you, but you are the master of your life pursuits, and part of that pursuit can include seeking out the friendships that will support you long-term.

CANCER

Monarch — “Ride on” — Milk (nourishment, parents, nostalgia)

The new year embodies a spirit of change, and you are in the middle of it. The building blocks are the most important aspect of a transformation. The caterpillar eats and eats, nourishing itself for the task of building a chrysalis and undergoing metamorphosis. You must nourish yourself to fully complete your transformation, which may take some time yet. Unlearning the lessons our parents taught us is not always an easy task, but the things you leave behind and the things you learn will carry you forward stronger and wiser. You are on the right track, you are going through the right motions, just make sure not to get caught in old ways of doing things.

LEO

Shrew — “It starts with a seed” — Maria Sabina (what ails you, seeking help, helping others)

When you spend a long time carrying around your baggage, it can be difficult to release it. It is okay to ask for help to make your burden lighter, even if that help is just another person in the room to keep you company while you get to a long-overdue task. This new year consider decluttering your life of things that no longer serve you, both physically and emotionally. You may realize that you have what you need right in front of you, but now you have the freedom to use it with this clean slate. If you cannot get rid of all that ails you, you can at least unburden yourself of the fluff and give yourself more room to breathe.

VIRGO

Hare — “There is a long journey inside you” — Sandra Cisneros (joys of the body, sorrows of the body, the senses)

When you spend a long time ignoring your body’s cues, the harder it is to trust its truths. You may have had to put aside your feelings or push through pain to stay afloat, developing a kind of tunnel vision to the responsibilities in your life. Abundance doesn’t have a dollar value, in fact, it speaks to what fulfills you. You put off rest or you will be stopped unexpectedly and with much worse consequences than pacing yourself intentionally. Your goals can still be accomplished by slowing down, taking in your surroundings and going at a more sustainable pace. Indulge in things that bring you peace, stimulate your senses and foster enjoyment.

LIBRA

Road Runner — “I’m so happy we met” — Volcano (patience, repression, lust)

When you’re caught up in perfectionism you don’t give yourself the chance to experience things. You need to let yourself learn, be in progress, and build your skills. Don’t let fear of looking silly at the outset lead you to procrastinate on your goals. You are not lacking passion or grit, but you may be running yourself in circles avoiding the thing you really want to be doing. Your energy is powerful and shouldn’t be repressed, merely guided toward a specific goal of your choosing. What fuels you? Who fuels you? Don’t go running blindly into something new or you may miss out on connections and opportunities.

SCORPIO

Wood Mouse — “Take it easy” — Braid (identity, survival, the opinions of others)

It is time to narrow your focus and commit your attention to one thing at a time. Multi-tasking may be disadvantageous to you going forward, and it would be better to sift through everything on your plate, discard what isn’t useful, and keep what is most important to you and your goals. This may be a time when the opinions of others are weighing heavily on you, and as a result, you may be questioning some of your recent decisions, but stay true to the identity you are forging for yourself. What is most important to you, and why haven’t you given it more attention?

SAGITTARIUS

Mule — “This is real” — Tree (wisdom, good roots, connection)

Have you looked back and taken a moment to appreciate how far you’ve come? Give yourself the credit you’re due for the things you have accomplished, drop the comparison, and let go of your shame, even the little things matter. Something is coming to an end, and you are at the precipice of a new beginning. The things at your fingertips may feel too good to be true, and when that happens take a moment to ground yourself in the moment and appreciate that they are real. You are forging strong roots, you are making connections, and you have learned a lot. Use your wisdom to carry yourself forward on your new journey.
