these days, many of my patients have been asking about almost a ketogenic diet plan. Is the ketogenic weight loss program safe? would you recommend it despite the current hype, the ketogenic diet is not always new. In medicine, we have been using it for almost a century to treat drug-resistant epilepsy, especially in children. in the ninety-nine years, Drs. Atkins developed his own weight-loss program that started with a very strong start to the ketogenic week. over time, other popular foods include a comparable weight loss process.

What is a ketogenic (keto) weight loss program?

In fact, it is so far from the food that the frame releases ketones into the bloodstream. high cells prefer to use blood sugar, which is derived from carbohydrates, because it is an important source of energy for the structure. in the absence of blood sugar from the diet, we begin to break down stored fat into molecules called ketone bodies (a process known as ketosis). after reaching ketosis, high cells will use our ketone bodies to produce energy until we start eating carbohydrates again. The transition, from the use of circulating glucose to the depletion of stored fats as a power supply, usually takes more than two to four days of ingesting less than 20 to 50 grams of carbohydrates per day. keep in mind the fact that that process is different, and some people need extra forbidden food in order to start producing enough ketones.

as it is low in carbohydrates, the ketogenic weight loss program is rich in proteins and fats. It usually contains a lot of meat, eggs, processed meats, sausages, cheese, fish, nuts, butter, oil, seeds and vegetables. because it is very limited, it is very difficult to keep up with it over time. Carbohydrates are usually counted as less than 50% of the typical American diet. another major criticism of this weight loss program is that most people tend to consume too much protein and too much fat in the process of processing, with too little ripeness and vegetables. Patients with kidney disease need to be careful because this weight loss program should exacerbate their condition. in addition, some sufferers may feel old on the inside at first, while others may experience severe breathing, nausea, vomiting, constipation, and sleep problems.

Is a ketogenic weight loss program good?

we have strong evidence that a ketogenic weight loss program reduces fainting in children, sometimes effectively as a remedy. because of those neuroprotective effects, questions have been raised about the practical benefits of other brain disorders including Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, sclerosis, sleep disorders, autism, or brain cancer. however, there is no human study to recommend ketosis to treat those conditions.

weight loss is one goal for my patients using a ketogenic diet. previous studies show relevant evidence of rapid weight loss when patients go on a ketogenic diet or a very low carbohydrate diet compared to people on a low-fat diet, or a Mediterranean diet. however, that difference in weight loss seems to disappear over time.

The ketogenic diet program in addition has been proven to increase blood sugar to convert those with type 2 diabetes, such as short-term comorbidities. there is a great deal of controversy when we consider the impact on cholesterol levels. some studies show that fewer patients have increased cholesterol levels initially, which is better to see ldl cholesterol drop a few months later. however, there may be no longer long-term studies studying its effects in years of diabetes and ldl cholesterol overdose.

Taking the key to the ketogenic system review?

A ketogenic diet regimen can be another fun way to deal with stress, and it can also increase weight loss. but it is difficult to recognize and can survive on beef and fatty, varied, and salty foods that can be notoriously bad. And we don’t understand a good deal about the long-term consequences, perhaps because it’s hard to stick to that people can’t use this method for long. it is also important to remember that the “yo-yo diet” that leads to rapid weight loss is related to an increase in mortality. by preferring to indulge in the next popular weight loss program that can last for weeks to months (for the general public including the ketogenic diet program), try to adopt a more sustainable alternative. A balanced, unprocessed weight loss program with good color and vegetable effects, lean meats, fish, whole grains, nuts, seeds, olive oil, and plenty of water appears to be evidence of a long, healthy, and vibrant quality of life.
