Well, no one is born with great stamina or with a dynamic personality, it’s the energy wheels or chakras which handle your life. People who aren’t aware of the word chakra and their effect on the body, for them I have crafted this article.

Chakras or energy levels represent a similar meaning. It is a Sanskrit word that stands for wheel or disk. Speaking about yoga, meditation, and Ayurveda, this refers to wheels of energy that exist in every human being and they are total seven in number, Muladhara, Svadhisthana, Manipura, Anahata, Vishuddha, Ajna and Sahasrara. These align the spine which starts from the base of the spinal cord and reaches the crown of the head. Though it’s difficult to see your body chakras but imagining them is easy, so visualize a swirling wheel of energy where both matter and consciousness collaborate. They are surrounded by healing energy called Prana which is the vital life force energy that helps you to live a vibrant, healthy life.

But when and how does the chakra system came into existence?

When I turn back the pages of history, I find that the chakra system originated in India between 1500 and 500 BC, and that too in the oldest text called Vedas. I feel so proud of being an Indian. The evidence of chakras is also found in Shri Jabla Darshana Upanishad, the Cudamini Upanishad, Yoga-Shikka Upanishad, and the Shandilya Upanishad. Well, different cultures have different sources, for example, according to Buddhist texts, there are 5 chakras whereas according to Hindu sources they are seven in number. Some cutting edge mediators discuss them as buildings of electromagnetic assortment, the exact degree and assortment of which straightforwardly emerge from an engineered normal of all positive and negative alleged “fields”, along these lines eventuating the complex Nadi.

You will be surprised to know that with the help of Kundalini yoga, breathing exercises, visualizations, mudras, bandhas, kriyas and mantras can channelize the flow of subtle energy through chakras.

Types

  •  Muladhara
  • Swadhisthana
  • Manipura
  • Anahata
  • Vishuddha
  • Ajna
  • Sahasrara

MULADHARA

Muladhara chakra is first on our list. This chakra is situated at the base of the spine and is depicted as a four-petaled lotus in red color and is connected to the earth element. Muladhara guides or you can say control the urge of food, sleep, sex and self-preservation. Once you start channelizing its energy, it will help you to maintain a sense of groundedness and inner stability. It helps you to live a stable life.

Next, we have,

 SVADHISTHANA

Your Svadhisthana energy wheel is located at the pelvis. The sacral chakra is an orange lotus with six petals, and it’s related to the water element i.e. it’s related to fluidity, adaptability, creativity, emotions, sexual energy, and the unconscious. Once you start working on channelizing its energy, you will feel the difference happening inside you. You can regulate your emotions and desires and will not get affected by other people's points of view.

MANIPURA

Your navel comprises of Manipura chakra which is commonly depicted as a downward or upward-facing red triangle, and it’s related to the fire element. If you are looking for higher strength and determination, that’s when you need to work on Manipura chakra and for that, you need to specifically practice those asanas which are meant for Manipura chakra. Once you start doing that, confidence will start building up inside you.

ANAHATA.

The heart chakra or Anahata is located at the heart center and is a six-pointed star that is green in color and surrounded by 12 lotus petals. If we talk about the spiritual level, Anahata is said to be the home of the higher/infinite self. It’s related to the air element. Besides that, it’s even related to qualities such as peace, love, and openness. Once it starts expanding, it's easier for you to tap unconditional love.

VISHUDDHA

The throat chakra is found close to the base of the throat and is delineated as a blue descending confronting triangle put inside a lotus containing 16 purple petals. Vishuddha is related to the component ether, or “space” (akasha), and with talking one’s fact. Its enthusiastic capacity is to assist us with finding valid self-articulation.

 AJNA

Ajna is situated between the eyebrows. Spoken to by a straightforward lotus with two white petals, it’s viewed as the seat of the brain, of cognizant and oblivious mindfulness. It isn’t related to any component, as this chakra is considered “past” the physical components. It is held to be the focal point of instinct, vision, prescience, creative mind, inward knowing, and confidence. The vivacious capacity of Ajna chakra is to assist us in figuring out how to know ourselves: inwardly, intellectually, and profoundly.

SAHASRARA

Sahasrara is found simply over the crown of the head. Supposed to be the entryway into unadulterated cognizance, it is frequently portrayed as a thousand-petaled lotus with a pinkish atmosphere, and it isn’t related to a physical component (as it also is viewed as past the components). Sahasrara fills in as a method of interfacing with divine vitality and is related to our most elevated self. Sahasrara encourages us to work in a progressively illuminated manner, develop self-authority, and discover a feeling of association with all.
