Before you go anywhere, take a look outside. Take a look at how big the sky is. If it's daytime, are there any clouds to give you perspective, perspective of your size and place in this incredible universe? Imagine yourself travelling at 67,000 miles per hour, that’s an incredible 30 kilometres per second around our nearest star, the sun.

Contemplate for a moment, the fact you travel 1.6 million miles per day. Be in awe of your place on our beautiful planet. You are travelling without moving, you are a passenger on the greatest journey of all, your wonderful life.

If it is night time and there is a moon, think about how far your eyes can see, how this moon, travelling as a co-pilot with the earth, is 384,400 kilometres away from you. This is your earth, this is your moon. Close your eyes for a moment and imagine the enormity of the space in which we travel, this amazing universe that you are molecularly connected to.

It is yours to feel free, it is yours to embrace, it will be where your dreams become a reality and where you feel most content and calm. By viewing the sky and the enormity of yourself, you are now understanding your place and your potential, your infinite limitless potential on earth.

Make sure you are ready for your walk. Are your shoes comfortable? Feel how unique and strong your feet feel inside your shoes. Ensure you have the right layers, feel them touching your skin, begin to awaken your senses. Take a sip of water to hydrate. Enjoy the cool fluid drifting into your throat, nourishing your body.

Once outside, take a route you have never taken before, be open to new experiences and new sights. Be aware of every step landing in front of the next, the gravitational pull that is allowing you to travel your 1.6 million miles per day. Feel grounded and strong with your pace. Focus on how strong your legs are, ask yourself to be taller than ever, to touch the sky with the top of your head.

As your arms swing rhythmically at your side, feel them brush past your body. Connect your pace to the metronomic beat of your arms, allowing you to keep a steady beat. Now you have physical momentum, focus on the tip of the nose, feel the cool air enter your body, imagine it giving you the energy to keep your beat and your pace.

Like a marathon runner, count the in-breath in for three strides and breath out for the next four strides, slowly finding a connection to the eternal universal breath and your strong and deliberate stride pattern. Find your own rhythm, connect your breath to your feet. You are strong, you are powerful, you are graceful.

Now, take a look at what’s in front of you. See the colours, the lines, the shapes and the shadows. Use all of this detail in front of you to expand your eyeline long into the distance. Look above the buildings and above the trees, keep focusing on the sky above your head, imagine the top of your head connected to the expansive space of the universe and smile. Smile at the simplicity and ease at which you are connecting to yourself and the space in which you live your life.

Your mind inevitably will wander to all the things that trouble your heart and soul but for this walk, for this moment in time, bring yourself back to your connected breath and strides. Bring your awareness to your arms moving you along and the space in which you are travelling.

This is all you have right now. Tell yourself, this a big sky today, I’m travelling in space and time. I love myself. Keep focused on your breath and strides, keep smiling and understand the vastness of who you are, your potential and your brilliance.

By grounding yourself in the awe of this world, by practising gratitude and connecting to all that is around you, you will experience a great feeling of peace and content. And by allowing this practice to be a part of your daily routine, you will feel the biggest benefit possible to your mental and physical wellbeing.
