Diets are never fun, but maybe that can change.

With summer almost here, women and men are rushing to try and get a beach ready body. What if you hate all the healthy stuff that comes with going on a diet though? I mean don't get me wrong ,I love fruits and most vegetables, but I would rather jiggle like jello than have to drink a kale smoothie. Not to mention my idea of cardio is walking to the refrigerator to get another piece of pie or a beer. So where does that leave us? How do we get a beach ready body without being completely miserable while doing it? Well, like most things in life, it all comes down to how you decide to go about it.

You can still eat foods you enjoy.

If you try to completely stop eating everything that you enjoy eating, it won't be long before you give up on your diet. Instead of going cold turkey on your favorite dishes, try instead eating smaller portions. You can also space out foods you enjoy with foods that are good for you. Instead of eating pizza every day, try having pizza once a week with healthier meals throughout the rest of the week. Instead of eating the whole pizza, only eat half of it. This may not seem like a significant change, but when you go from your old habits to new ones, it will make a difference. Every little bit helps after all. By keeping foods that make you happy in your life you won't be completely miserable during your diet so you won't be as likely to give up after just a week or so. After all, if you aren't happy, you aren't going to take it seriously.

Set realistic goals for yourself.

One thing that trips us up when we are trying to get a beach ready body is setting goals that, if we are being honest with ourself, we know we can't achieve in the time we allowed ourself to met the goal. Make realistic goals. Don't say "I am going to drop 80 pounds in 3 weeks." Make it so that you have enough time to actually get to the weight you want to get to. This is important so that when you step onto the dreaded scale you won't feel like a complete failure for not reaching the goal you had set for yourself. It will only discourage you if in your mind you are supposed to be at this point but you are still at that point. Give yourself enough time to realistically get where you need to be, there is no rush take it easy on yourself.

Don't check the scale every day.

For the same basic reason as setting a realistic goal for yourself, you shouldn't check the scale every day. As tempting as it may be to run to the bathroom and jump on the scale after a day of eating healthy and exercise, don't do it. You will just feel disappointed if it shows you have not lost anything yet. These things take time. You should wait at LEAST a week before checking the scale to see how many pounds you have lost. Even checking it every other week or once a month would be fine. The more you look at the scale, and don't see any progress in the numbers the more discouraged you may become. So avoid the scale and relax. You will feel the progress before you will see the progress.

Diet pills are not a magical fix all.

Everywhere you see advertisements for new and improved diet pills that are supposed to fix all your weight problems. Take it from me—those little pills can only do so much, and most of them don't really work. If you want to use diet pills, that is completely up to you, but don't get them thinking that just by taking these little pills you don't have to make any changes yourself. That you can swallow a couple pills each day and keep eating fattening greasy food every meal every day, and sit on the couch watching TV all day. It just doesn't work like that. They may help curb your food cravings, help your metabolism, and give you a little extra energy, but you still have to make some effort on your end too. If you aren't doing anything to try and lose the weight, then in the end, all you have accomplished is throwing away your money on medicine that won't do a thing for you. Diet pills are NOT the answer. You have to actually make a little effort yourself.

You DO need to get exercise, You DON'T have to every day.

Changing your exercise routine will go a long way to helping you get your beach body, but that doesn't mean you have to work out every day. You don't even have to do heavy exercise. It can be anything from dancing around your house, listening to music, to going for a walk through the park a couple times a week. Exercise needs to be something you are going to enjoy or you will not want to continue to do it. Also, you don't need to exercise every single day. That makes it seem more like a chore than an activity you should be taking your time and enjoying. Find something that is fun to you and before long it won't even be an issue you will be doing it just because you enjoy it.

In no time at all, you will be there.

It will take some time and effort, but in no time at all, you will be where you want to be. Just have fun with it because the most important thing is how you feel about your journey. If you are miserable the whole time, it won't seem worth it to you, but if you have fun with it and take it easy, the end results will be totally worth it. So don't worry about the details. You can find a plan that works for you. Just remember to take it slow and not cut out the things you enjoy to get there.
