Perhaps you keep alternating between feeling sick and depressed. As soon as one thing leaves, the other rears its ugly head. You just can't seem to catch a break. Sometimes, your depression can be linked to feeling sick. Other times, it's the other way around. Either way, you need something that can make you not just feel better but also be healthier. This article will offer a few different methods that you can utilize to do just that.

Essential Oils

Since certain medications for depression can leave you feeling completely out of your mind, it's sometimes a good idea to first try a natural approach. Essential oils have been used by celebrities, and other health experts, and have been beloved by both sectors for their effectiveness. There are essential oils for depression that you can use to help lift your mood and make you feel energized. These mood-boosting cocktails can either be applied to your skin, smelled, or you can just treat yourself to a nice and relaxing bath and soak within them. Either way, essential oils should be one of your first choices when looking to uplift your mood and make you healthier.

Exercise

Doctors have always suggested that exercise could boost your mood. Obviously, the more that you exercise, the fitter and healthier you're going to become. However, it can also help you to feel better in general, too. This is because by performing an exercise, you're forcing your body to wake up and utilize energy. Your mind becomes more focused and you feel accomplished by the end of the exercise because you managed to make it through without stopping. The "exercise high" that you're experiencing after exercising can linger for some time, and help you to keep on being productive. The more productive you are, the happier you're going to feel. So, if you're starting to feel down, take a walk outside, or start lifting some weights. You'll likely feel a lot better afterward.

Stay in contact with friends.

Long gone are the days where people would talk on corded phones for hours on end. Instead, texting has taken over the method of socialization space. While texting can be a convenient form of communication, it also often makes you less likely to respond to a text. How many texts are currently waiting for a response in your phone right now? In order to make yourself feel happier, you should contact your friends regularly. More than that, you should invite them out for adventures. Instead of just going out to dinner, or having a drink, you should plan a new experience together. Perhaps you should put aside a weekend where you can all go hiking or maybe there's an escape room experience that just opened nearby. Whatever adventure interests your group, in particular, you should head out and have fun. Socializing with friends is an important part of your emotional health. Even if you're feeling down, being with your friends can greatly improve your mood. If your friends happen to be fitness gurus, or fitness-oriented, they may also be an excellent partner at a gym. They can keep you sticking close to your fitness goals and offer support.

Make time for you.

Just as important as spending time with friends, is spending time by yourself. With the exhausting nature of work and the demands of adult responsibilities, your schedule is likely crammed. However, each week—if not every day—you should set aside a few hours, or even just a single hour, to yourself. Grab a book, take a nap, watch some mindless TV, whatever it is that you need to do to feel relaxed and cared for, then you should do it.

Health—both physical and mental—are important and often depend on each other. These four methods can help you improve both.
