Haruki Murakami has been plagued by creative pressures and daily chores.

To maintain his energy, he gets up at 4am, writes for four hours and runs 10km every day.

After more than 30 years, he has not only lost his belly fat, he has quit smoking and, most importantly, he has gained peace of mind.

In running, he had more alone time, and the grass, trees, flowers and birds he encountered on the way provided him with endless inspiration.

The state of exercise allows him to get away from many worries and look at himself as a bystander. When his physical strength is exhausted, his negative emotions will also be eliminated.

As he wrote about finishing a marathon:

"I finally sat down on the ground, toweled off sweat and drank water.

It is a personal delight to unlace your running shoes and do elaborate ankle stretches in the dusk around you.

What looks like a strong knot inside is unraveling little by little."

When all the other thoughts evaporate into sweat, the negative emotions in the mind are healed without medicine.

The writer Jiang Fangzhou became famous when she was young, and the voices of questioning came to her face. She felt anxious and suffered from insomnia for a long time.

Later, she began to learn from Murakami, going to the playground every day to run five kilometers.

At first, she was out of breath by two kilometers;

But when she forced herself to run 3.5 km, the wind whistled in her ears, and her mind no longer had any other thoughts.

As she sprinted toward the 5k, she saw the ponytail moving in her shadow and felt an indescribable joy.

Jiang later understood that it was the pleasure of overcoming oneself.

"The runner is immersed in the music of his walkman, locked in physical energy consumption, enjoying a strong will to overcome physical torture."

When she tarted to try more sports, swimming, rock climbing... As her mental state improved, she realized:

"It turns out that mental anxiety can really be alleviated through exercise."

As Hippocrates, the father of medicine, once said, "Light, air, water and exercise are the sources of life and health."

When you're running into the wind, all your negative emotions are just as far away as the landscape.

The more you conquer yourself, the more you feel in control of your life, and the more it lifts.

Doctors at the Free University of Berlin in Germany followed five middle-aged men and seven women with major depression for nine months.

They found that the drugs had a limited or even ineffective effect on patients.

Later, the researchers asked the patients to run for 30 minutes a day and gradually increase their exercise over the course of 10 days.

Results After 10 days, six patients reported significant improvement in depression.

Physiological research shows that exercise can make the body release a chemical substance called endorphin, which is often called "happy element". It can not only make people feel happy, but also greatly improve the supply of energy and make people energetic.

As Wendy Suzuki, a neuroscientist at New York University, said in her TED talk,

Exercise leads to a better mood, more energy, better memory, and better concentration.

There are always people complaining about the daily commute and how they have time and energy to exercise.

In fact, when you are tired and stressed, you have fewer brain cells and less serotonin.

Exercise, on the other hand, will stimulate you to secrete more dopamine, serotonin and other elements that make you feel happy and cure your exhaustion.

Therefore, the busier and more tired you are, the more exercise you need.

There is a saying:

"The dopamine level of running is second only to that of falling in love. Three kilometers is for all kinds of unhappiness, five kilometers is for all kinds of internal injuries, and after 10 kilometers, all the heart is open and kind."

A good game on the basketball court, a five-mile run on the treadmill, a good sweat, a hot shower and a good sleep.

When you're refreshed, nothing in life can stop you.
