Dinky Active 180 and The Smarter Starter

Fulfilling a Preschool child’s daily physical requirement can seem daunting, especially getting the right information, and understanding the immense benefits it brings all children.

Dinky Active 180 is excited to present a new physical activity program for early years children. The Dinky Active 180 physical development program for all early years children, follows the UK governments guidelines of 180 minutes of physical activity for under fives every day. This can seem like a lot to fit in to every day, especially with so many other areas of activity to fulfill, we believe Dinky Active 180 has the answer. The Dinky Active program is full of creative and motivating activities, which are easy for practitioners, parents, and carers alike to incorporate into daily routines and activities.

Dinky Active 180 is a program that uses characteristics of effective learning, and developmental matters from all areas of EYFS (early years foundation stage), and when combined with sports based, not sports-specific related activities, using techniques and methods developed from Head Coach Jon Rolnik’s experience as a fully qualified LTA tennis coach for 18+ years, creates an affective, inspirational and immensely fun physical activity journey for the early years. At Dinky Active 180 we tend to concentrate on agility, balance, and coordination, targeting all areas of the body. We have weekly linked, progressive, differentiated tasks and challenges, all combined with uplifting music, to develop the huge range of movement skills needed for improved and enhanced development in the early years, such as walking, hopping, sidestepping, jumping, leaping, and many more activities, which when done in the correct way, are essential in helping develop any child’s physical understanding in so many ways, most specifically their cognitive function and brain development.

We are very passionate about Dinky Active 180 because we believe that children have the right to develop a positive attitude towards physical activity from the earliest years. This will then impart on their future health, as there is a direct link to a lack of full body physical activity and chronic disease.
