Balancing Home & Work

Balancing home and work can be tough, but it's important that you find balance with both of them. At times work can be stressful, we've all dealt with it. Now it's important to remember that work is just temporary at the moment, and you have a life to live outside of it. Do the best you can while you are at work, and try focus on the positives. When you're off work, try to leave work at the office and focus on selfcare. Selfcare can be a number of things like taking a nice warm bath to relax, meditating, socializing, working out, etc. Emotional Selfcare is may also be needed. If you feel like you need a good cry, then cry. If you feel like you just need to scream, then scream. If you feel like you need to break something, then find something in your house that you can afford to replace lol. It's also important to remember to eat properly. If you have a chaotic work schedule, try to make sure you're incorporating balanced meals into your diet. One way of doing this is prepping your meals. For example, I like to have scrambled eggs in the morning with sautéed vegetables, toast, and coffee. So I precut my veggies the night before and also have my coffee already set to brew. This might not sound like a lot but all the little things make a difference. If you're having trouble trying to find balance then invest in a planner. Find time at the end of the week to plan out your next week.

Balancing Life & Guilty Pleasures

We all have guilty pleasures in life, and that's perfectly normal. We also need to make sure that certain guilty pleasures are not taking over our lives. Sometimes we get caught up in doing something we really enjoy but then regret it later because we sacrificed something else for that enjoyment. For example, you might stay up late drinking knowing that you have an appointment in the morning. At that point you're mentally and physically tired and you start thinking to yourself that you should of went to bed at a decent time. But there's no sense in crying over spilt milk so try to think of ways that you can enjoy your hobbies without sacrificing at the same time. For instance, if you like to play video games make sure that you set aside a certain amount of time for it and try to stay in that timeframe. If you like to binge watch tv shows, then try to limit yourself to maybe 2 episodes a day and stick to it. If you like to gamble, maybe limit yourself to doing it twice a week, or even once a week. Guilty pleasures can also be indulgence of certain foods. It's ok to enjoy the foods you like but some of them might need to be limited. In my case, I really LOVE Dr. Pepper and would have one with just about every meal but I found myself always feeling sluggish with almost no energy. So I had to find a balance to where I still enjoy it but it is not always my beverage of choice. If you can find balance in your life and the things you enjoy then you'll find that you will feel better and have less stress in your life.

If there is something in your life that is stressing you, see what you can do to fix it. If you're working a job that is constantly calling you in to work and is taking a toll on you then try to seek work elsewhere if you can. Some of you may feel obligated to your job and for that reason you may push yourself over the limit, but it is not worth your wellbeing. If you have a person in your life that is constantly stressing you out, politely explain to them that you need sometime for yourself. We all know that things come up in life that you can't avoid and that's ok. Everyone has issues in their life and what works for you might not work for the next person and vice versa.
