Apple issues instructions on keeping iPhones free of coronavirus

Cellphones can be breeding ground for many germs but proper sanitation is possible.

We probably touch our cell phones hundreds of times a day without even realizing it. Our portable devises go everywhere with us. They are placed in purses, pockets, vehicles, and sat down on various surfaces. If you have ever found the of your iPhone just plain nasty and were not sure how to clean it, don’t despair. Not long ago Apple advised users of it’s iPhones not to utilize alcohol to clean their products and suggested a dry cloth to wipe the phone’s surface. It was stated that there was a great risk of damaging the devices with any type of liquid product. Now, in the wake of the coronavirus the technology giant has reversed what had been first said and offering instructions on how to keep your phone germ free.

If you have already been cleaning your cell phone every day,you have been practicing good hygiene, so please continue to do so. If you have not been sanitizing your cell phone it’s time to begin . Even without the coronavirus being a factor, there are very good reasons you should maintain regular sanitization habits even once this virus is no longer pandemic. It seems that scientific testing has revealed that the coronavirus can live for two to three days on stainless steel and plastic. That may sound hideous but it’s good to know, Just think of all the other germs that have been breeding on your fibice if you were not cleaning it. There is, however, no need to panic over this news because answers are being provided.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that all “high-touch” surfaces be cleaned on a daily basis. This includes keyboards, phones, computers and tablets. In this fast paced world,most everyone owns a cellular telephone, however many people more than likely have never even thought about keeping it properly sanitized. Perhaps you wanted to keep your iPhone disinfected but were afraid you might damage When deciding to clean your iPhone, there are some things to keep in mind as safety precautions. The following tips will ensure your device is germ free and if you are careful to follow the instructions, no harm should come to your device.

You must be careful however because improperly cleaning your iphone can cause damage to it. The bottom line. according to Apple is to not allow moisture to get inside your device. It’s also important to avoid scratching the surface. Never dunk the phone in any type of cleaning solution or spray any type of cleaner directly on your device. Do not spray it with compressed-air devices that are used to clean keyboards and make sure you avoid rubbing the iPhones with materials that are abrasive. What you can do is turn off your cell phone and unplug any cables. Do not clean your device whil it is charging. Apple cautions against household cleaners on their products but says you can use wipes that are 70% alcohol which can be purchased at a drug store. Clorox wipes can also be used to clean your phone, but it’s important to wipe down your device gently.

According to AT&T, disinfectant wipes should be wrung out before using them on your phone. This would ensure that no liquid gets inside and caused problems. Another option is using soft cloths to clean your iphone. The cloths that are used to clean eyeglasses which are microfiber cleaning cloths are highly recommended. AT&T also suggests spraying disinfectant on paper towels shut adds never spray anything directly on your phone. Public health authorities are recommending these steps for cleaning your phone along with other measures intended to slow down the spread of the coronavirus. As of the timing of this article, 137,000 people worldwide have been infected by this pandemic and more than 5,000 have died from the illness.

Regarding the coronavirus, most people have only mild to moderate symptoms. Adults over age 60 and those currently dealing with health issues have are considered as high risk and being hit especially hard. Their immune systems are compromised more easily than others, so when you are regularly keeping the surface of your iPhone clean is a preventative measure for your own healt as well as for the safety of others. Proper hygiene and sanitation are always in order and should be practiced even when the coronavirus is long gone. Washing your hands thorough and utilizing hand sanitizer should be a part of every day life. Do be careful not to over do it or your skin may become immune and it will lose its effect,
