Did you know that for thousands of years, Rhodiola tea has been treasured as an aphrodisiac, one of the strongest herbal aphrodisiacs in many ancient healers "bag of tricks" administered to bolster libido and enhance endurance?

If you are fatigued, worried, irritable, restless, stressed, depressed, or just in need of "a bit of a pick-me-up", why not relax and unwind with a refreshingly fragrant cup of Rhodiola tea? One of the most sought out herbs today, Rosea Rhodiola, has gained immense popularity for its ability to relieve stress and act as a natural, drug-free anti-depressant. A cup of Rhodiola tea may be all you need to take the edge off of a stress-filled day.

However, like many other herbs from Mother Nature's medicine chest, their medicinal properties can be highly effective for a broad spectrum of applications. By relieving stress, we can greatly decrease the onset of a diverse array of dilapidating diseases and major health concerns like cardiovascular problems such as heart attacks and stroke, diabetes, Alzheimer's disease, and cancer.

Taking a supplement or regular consumption of Rhodiola tea is an ideal way to control the stress produced by today's modern face-paced lifestyle. Research studies have proven that the root of Rosea Rhodiola has the ability to inhibit the body's "flight or flight" response triggered by our sympathetic nervous system. When used in a synergistic combination with certain other herbs, the Rosea Rhodiola is an excellent source for enhanced energy rejuvenation.

A cup of Rhodiola tea can help relax our mind and body and bring balance to our nervous mechanism. Rhodiola tea, harvested from high elevations, also exhibits unique properties that alleviate altitude sickness, calm nausea and relieve dizziness, shortness of breath, and muscle weakness associated with physical activity at elevated altitudes.

Research studies show that Rhodiola Rosea significantly increases muscle adenosine triphosphate (ATP) and creatine phosphate (CP) levels in the bloodstream by encouraging the amount of energy-rich fatty acids released from adipose tissue. The human body utilizes ATP and CP (high-energy phosphate compounds), as vital sources of energy.

Additional studies indicate Rosea Rhodiola may influence emotional tone by affecting neurotransmitter monoamine levels (5-HT, DA, NE) in nerve tracts involving the regulating mechanisms of anxiety, mood, and emotion in the amygdala, hippocampus, midbrain and hypothalamus regions of the brain.

Do you need to drop a few pounds? Regular ingestion of Rhodiola tea can help you reach your weight loss goals. Rosea Rhodiola, as substantiated by multiple clinical research studies, promotes weight loss. A Russian clinic study on the long-term effects of ingesting Rosea Rhodiola pills showed that about ninety percent of their overweight subjects showed a decrease of an average of twenty pounds. The Russian research attributed these impressive weight losses to the activation of an enzyme called adipose lipase, which burns the fats that our bodies store.

Rosea Rhodiola works for more than fat loss, influenza, and colds, proving beneficial in a diverse array of health disorders. Fighting infection and boosting the immune system is but a small part of what this remarkable herb can do. Rosea Rhodiola has contains 17 different amino acids that are all essential in promoting vital bodily functions and maintaining optimum good health. When you are sick and down with a cold or flu, Rhodiola tea not only helps keeps the body hydrated, it also works to relieve discomfort and speeds up recovery time.

One of the most intriguing side-benefits to come out of all the multitude of studies researching the beneficial properties of Rosea Rhodiola, and another powerful reason to enjoy Rhodiola tea, is its proven effectiveness in restoring and repairing skin texture and maintaining a more youthful appearance to the skin. No wonder the fragrant and tasty tea is sought out by women around the world as a powerful weapon in their arsenal against aging!

What Is Rhodiola?

Rhodiola Rosea, also known as Golden Root, Rose Root, Arctic Root, Aaron's Rod, or Siberian Root, is a woody, perennial plant native to the high mountain peaks of Siberia. Free of toxins and chemicals, the Rhodiola plant thrives at altitudes, and in temperatures, a human being could not endure for long, flourishing at heights above 10,000 feet in Siberia. Rhodiola Rosea is a hardy plant that grows from 18 to 24 inches tall and displays brilliant yellow flowers when in full bloom. The resilient plant grows by establishing tenacious roots that allow the plant to grow amongst patches of rocks or up through a cap of snow or ice. The medicinal herb is found in Siberia and naturalized throughout the Italian Alps and in the Rocky Mountains of the United States.

Dosage

Rhodiola Rosea extract is sold as a dietary supplement in capsule and tablet form, with recommended dosages ranging from 100 mg up to 400 mg a day. High-quality Rhodiola products contain at least 3 percent of the active ingredient rosavin and at least 0.8 percent of the active ingredient salidroside, which is similar to the concentration found in healthy Rhodiola plants. Capsules, powders, and tablets may not be the best choice, though. Extracts do not provide the full spectrum of activity that pure Rhodiola Rosea roots provide. A better option is to make a satisfying cup of Rhodiola tea from dried roots.
