What are your energy centers?

There are many energy centers within the human body, but we will be going over the main seven. The seven main energy centers of the body are known as Chakras. Which is sanskrit for "Wheel". You can think of these energy centers as pools of spiraling energy in different points of the energy body.

The seven chakras are as follows from top to bottom:

1.) Crown chakra

2.) Third eye chakra

3.) Throat chakra

4.) Heart chakra

5.) Solar plexus

6.) Sacral plexus/ chakra

7.) Root chakra

We will go through this list from the bottom to the top.

The Root chakra, also called Muladhara is located at the root or the base of the spine, or the tailbone. Although some say that it is located at the feet. The Root chakra is associated with vitality, strength, stability, and survival. The emotion associated with the Root chakra is courage and will power. The color of the root chakra is red. The element of the root chakra is earth. The root chakras vice is narcissism and it’s virtue is curiosity. The Root chakra’s challenge is materialism and its blessing is sensuality.

The Sacral chakra, also called Svadhishthana is located about two to three inches below the belly button. The sacral chakra is associated with purification, joy, sex, pleasure, and passion. The emotions associated with the sacral chakra are grief, loss, depression and the elimination of fear. The color of the sacral chakra is orange. The element of the sacral chakra is water. The sacral chakras vice is hubris and its virtue is quantifiable pride. The challenge of the sacral chakra is fear and its blessing is trust.

The Solar Plexus, also called Manipura is located near the belly button. The solar plexus is associated with spiritual, psychic, and physical energy. The emotions that are associated with the solar plexus are forgiveness, self-esteem, releasing fear, and success. The color of the solar plexus is yellow. The element of the solar plexus is fire. The solar plexus vice is forgetfulness and its virtue is humor. The challenge of the solar plexus is anger and the blessing of the solar plexus is power.

The Heart chakra, also called Anahata, is located at the heart or on the sternum. The heart chakra is associated with love and emotion and so the emotion associated with the heart chakra is all emotions and love. The color of the heart chakra is green and the elements of the heart chakra are earth, air, and water. The vice of the heart chakra is despair and its virtue is openness. The challenge of the heart chakra is imbalance and the blessing of the heart chakra is compassion.

The Throat chakra, also called Vishuddha, is located at the throat. The throat chakra is associated with creativity, self-expression, and communication. The emotions associated with the throat chakra are peace, calm, serenity, and the spoken word and it’s color is blue. The element associated with the throat chakra is air. The vice of the throat chakra is attachment to thoughts of another and the virtue is moderation. The challenge of the throat chakra is muteness and the blessing of the throat chakra is voice.

The Brow chakra, also called Ajna, is located above the eyebrows and is associated with intuition, insight, and psychic ability. The emotions associated with the brow chakra are knowledge, sleep, spiritual advancement, and wisdom. The color of the brow chakra is indigo and the elements of the brow chakra are air, water, and spirit. The vice of the brow chakra is obsession and illusion and the virtue is synthesis. The challenge of the brow chakra is ignorance and the blessing is vision.

Finally we have the Crown chakra, also called Sahasrara, located at the crown or the top of the head. The crown chakra is associated with the universal consciousness, wisdom, spirit and the connection to spirit. The emotions associated with the crown chakra are peace, purity, divine connection, and ideas. The color of the crown chakra is violet, although some say that it’s color is white. The element of the crown chakra is spirit. The vice of the crown chakra is emotional servitude and the virtue is cunning. The challenge of the crown chakra is hubris and the blessing is humility.
