Our gut is the driver of both physical and mental health.

Suffering from an inflamed or disease riddled gut can cause a lot of problems — sometimes, we may not be aware of just how detrimental it is to our overall health.

Diet is key to establishing a diverse range of microbiome.

This can be quite hard when your digestion seems to flair over every single bit of food that passes through your lips.

When we have a good level of the favourable microbiome in our gut, we will boost our immune system, lose weight, build muscle and create a positive environment for absorbing and assimilating the food we eat daily.

There is a critical discovery regarding how our gut bacteria feed on unusual sugar molecules found in leafy green veggies.

This could hold essential findings as to how good bacteria go about doing their business, helping protect our gut, as well as keeping us healthy.

Leafy greens are our best food choice to give those good bugs nutrients.

This will help eliminate those harmful bacteria bugs to colonise and take over.

Researchers in Melbourne and the UK Identified this enzyme used by bacteria, fungi, and other organisms that seem to feed on this unusual sugar, only abundant in green veggies.

Every year, leafy green veggies produce the sugar enzyme on an enormous scale — much more than we could even realise.

The more leafy green veggies you eat, the more sugar they produce, which feeds your good bacteria the right stuff.

E.Coli is a critical bacterial coloniser which our gut needs.

Therefore, eating leafy greens is a crucial factor that helps maintain healthy gut bacteria and good digestive health.

So to keep improving the functioning of our gut, it’s essential to keep feeding it daily. That gives the bad guys less chance of taking over and causing a world of problems.

Researchers are now working on using this key enzyme to change the way antibiotics are used.

The widespread use of this enzyme enables us to use specific antibiotic’s, abolishing the harmful forms of Ecoli and salmonella, which are responsible for food poisoning.

This enzyme will kill them off whilst leaving all the good bacteria intact.

The total opposite of what antibiotics do today!

Overuse of antibiotics causes more gut bacterial issues than we can imagine.

Although many more studies must be conducted, we may finally head toward developing antibiotics that kill bacteria and don’t damage our gut health in the process.

If you are like me, this is a godsend! Antibiotics kill gut health & have certainly done an excellent job damaging mine.

Key Take Away

It’s so important to include as many leafy green veggies as possible.

Use them in a smoothie, eat them raw — bake or steam.

There are so many creative ways you can prepare veggies. I have used zucchini in baked goods such as bread, muffins and cakes.

Yes - I promise you won't taste it, and it will leave your baked goods moist and delicious.

The more variety you eat, the healthier and more diverse your good gut bacteria will become.

This isn't an overnight success either. For those poor souls who have had gut problems all their life - slow and steady does win the race.

Perhaps you may not experience a re-set, so to speak, but the relief of a calm, and less inflamed gut on a day to day basis is enough to ask for after years of suffering.

If you are suffering from allergies, you can bet your bottom dollar that's a result of poor gut health.

Altough there is no real cure, we can take positive steps forward to help relieve our gut inflammation, and perhaps leave ourselves a lot less susceptible to the throws of allergies

That leads to better health, fighting infections and other bugs flying around (including the dreaded Covid variant).
