Did That Wigan Pie Just Talk?
In the lively town of Wigan, UK, where meat and potato pies are a big deal and the smell of fresh pastries fills the air, there’s a cozy pie shop known for its tasty £1 meat and potato pies. One day, Albert walked in with one goal: to get a hot pie for dinner. Little did he know this simple trip would become a hilarious adventure filled with all sorts of wackiness.
As Albert got closer to the counter, the friendly shopkeeper said hello. But then Albert noticed a plump meat and potato pie sitting under the glass. To his surprise, that pie suddenly wobbled and said, “Hey you, pie-face!” Albert jumped back, almost losing his balance.
“What was that?” he exclaimed, blinking in disbelief. “Am I dreaming? Is Ant and Dec ready to pull a prank on me? Come out, you two crazy jungle pranksters!”
“Nope! This is real!” the meat and potato pie declared confidently. “I’m the star of this shop, and you, my friend, are going to be the next star of Vocal.media! Just make up a great story about me!”
Albert looked around, unsure whether to laugh or run. The shopkeeper chuckled, clearly enjoying the scene. “Don’t worry! You’re not going mad. This is Wigan—where anything can happen, and we’re all as crazy as a talking pie!”
“How do I start?” Albert asked, still a bit confused but intrigued.
“Start with me!” the pie insisted. “Picture me and the other pies putting on a show for all the customers!”
Albert couldn’t help but laugh. “This is just silly!”
“Exactly! Let’s make it fun! We can do a talent show right here. I could sing about why I’m the best meat and potato pie!”
The other pies started to bounce around, getting excited. “Pie Idol!” shouted one pie. “Let’s see who can tell the best jokes and sing the best songs!”
Suddenly, the old radio crackled to life. “Attention pie lovers! All pies have decided to show off their talents! Don’t miss this special pie event!”
The lead pie took center stage, wobbling with excitement. “Alright, everyone! Time for my big moment!” It started singing a silly song about being the best meat and potato pie in Wigan, and the other pies cheered.
“Hey, Albert! You’ve got to join in!” the lead pie said.
With laughter bubbling up, Albert decided to go along with it. He made up funny lyrics about a warm, flaky meat and potato pie. “Oh, meat and potato, you’re my delight, baked in pastry, warm and just right!” The pies cheered, their crusts bouncing like crazy.
Just when the fun was at its peak, the lights in the shop flickered. “The door to adventure is opening!” the lead pie shouted. “Jump through, and spread your humor across Wigan!”
With a playful leap, Albert pretended to dive into the joy of the moment when, suddenly with a jolt, he woke up in his bed, heart racing and eyes wide open. The familiar sounds of Wigan filled his ears, and he realized it had all been a funny dream. He still remembered bits of his silly song about the meat and potato pie, and he felt the laughter and silliness rolling around in his mind.
Confused but amused, Albert chuckled to himself. “A singing pie? Who would think a trip to the pie shop could lead to this?”
With a grin, he got out of bed, vowing that his next visit to the £1 Pie Shop would be more than just a meal; it’d be an adventure. After all, in Wigan—where anything can happen—there’s always room for more laughter and surprises, especially with a talking pie!
Don’t forget read my poem, it is further down page. It’s about Wigan pies
This was made up from the song, the pies and I made up that day. Oh what a poem
A real old Wigan Pie
If you ever find yourself in Wigan town,
Where rain may fall and skies may frown,
Forget your woes, don’t question why,
Just sink your teeth in a Wigan pie.
Golden crust, yummy so crisp and deep,
With meat and potato, a filling to keep.
Warm and hearty, rich and stout,
It mends what ails you, there’s no doubt.
A sniffle, a cough, a heart that sighs—
One bite, and oh, the spirit rise!
For every trouble, small or wide,
A Wigan pie stands by your side.
So if you’re ever passing through,
Don’t ask me twice, I’m telling you.
Grab that pie, not veggie stir fry,
It cures all ills, I tell you no lie!
