Dear Ghosts in my house,

You are really annoying!

I have lived in peace with you for over twenty years, and I continue to live in peace with you.

However, as kind as I am; I have a grudge against you.

You never let me sleep!

You visit me at night when the house is quiet, and you make me sing and hum in my sleep.

Are you trying to scare me?

You should know by now, that your scare tactics really don't work.

What is it about my bedroom that you love so much, you have to disturb me when I am sleeping?

My husband knows you are there, and you give him such a fright when you make me say silly things, or make me hum silly noises at night.

Yes, you've even done that neat little trick when I have been laid awake at night!

We know that you mean no harm, but you do like to tease us at night.

If we told anyone of your existence, they would think we are crazy.

Not everybody believes n ghosts like we do.

People only believe it when they see it.

You noisy little ghosts have made your presence in our house truly known.

We know you are there, so you can stop now.

Anyway;

I have had a thought.

Wouldn't it be nice if you just brought us a nice mug of Coffee upstairs, instead of tormenting us? Don't you think so?

We could sit and chat for an hour. You could tell us about your life and woes, or maybe share tales of your grandchildren with us.

You could help us move our furniture where we need it, or even do the washing up for us.

You could settle our grandchildren by telling them kind bedtime stories at night. We know, they wouldn't be afraid of you.

I need my sleep at night, or I can't get up in the morning and take care of my partner, myself, or my daily tasks.

I think my partner would be annoyed if I slept all day. Wouldn't yours be annoyed too?

Please dear Ghosts in my house.

I don't know your names but I get that you want us to know that you exist and live here too.

Be reassured we don't intend to kick you out. It's nice having extra company around the house which can be a little too quiet sometimes. Nevertheless, we still need to sleep. We can't thrive with little sleep; we are not like you.

Dear Ghosts in our house,

You're welcome to share our house with us, as long as you pay your share of the rent to our council, and help to pay our utility bills. Also, a little shopping help goes a long way, as does a little help with housework.

It's not too much to ask!

I have but one request,

Feel free to chat with us when we are awake. We love conversational people. However; when nighttime arrives, please leave us to sleep in peace. You have a television and a radio downstairs, and there is always plenty of food and drink in the kitchen, so feel free to help yourselves.

Don't forget to wash up after yourselves though.

There is enough to keep you occupied when we are sleeping, so you have no need to wake us up by doing silly things to us just so you can have some attention.

Dear Ghosts in our house,

Make yourselves at home;

but please, let us get some much-needed rest!

Your faithful friend,

Carol.

Loved it! It's funny! I hope the ghosts pay the rent during this inflation. Its the least they can do for you.

congratulations on TS. This is GREAT. I lived in a house on Long Island NY for 28 years. The house had many poltergeists. Faucets would turn on and off, lights would flicker, and the TV (we didn't have remotes back then) would change channels on its own. Voice would be heard from time to time. And anyone who went into the basement, was chased out in a matter of seconds. Very playful house.
