The Man Behind the Curtain

Part 1

This is my first time writing a story on a platform, so I request your apologies for my mistakes.

The day had been long and tiring for Rossy, with her sitting at her desk for hours, typing away on her laptop. She was more than ready to call it a day and surrender to the comforting embrace of sleep. She placed her laptop on the table near her bed and took her mobile in hand. Scrolling through her Instagram feed, she stopped at a particular picture, not even realizing that her finger had paused on the screen.

It was a photo of a happy couple, sitting by the beach, holding hands and smiling. The woman in the picture looked so familiar, but Rossy couldn't place where she had seen her before. She stared at the picture, trying to recall her memories. Suddenly, like a bolt of lightning, memories flooded into her mind - memories she had kept locked away for years.

Rossy squeezed her eyes shut, willing the tears to not spill over. It had been a long time since she had allowed herself to think about the past, but this image had unlocked something deep inside her. Her mind played back the moments of joy, love, and the pain which she had experienced in the past, whom she had once loved deeply.

After a few minutes, Rossy wiped away her tears and took a deep breath. She placed her mobile away and tried to calm herself before closing her eyes to sleep. As she lay in her bed, she couldn't shake off the feeling of nostalgia, longing, and love that had gripped her, leaving her with a sense of yearning for what could have been.

But as she fell into a deep sleep, she realized that perhaps these memories were better left to the past, and it was time for her to move forward and create new memories. She closed her eyes with a smile on her face, wondering what the future had in store for her.

Rosy woke up in the morning and the memories of yesterday overwhelmed her mind. She had been through a tough time; her heart had been shattered into millions of pieces and she didn't know how to glue them back together. But today, she had to act as if everything was normal. She put on her best smile, brushed her hair, applied a bit of makeup, and headed towards her office.

As she walked, her mind raced back to the love of her life who had left her heartbroken. She tried to push the thoughts away and focus on her work, but her heart just wouldn't let her. She spent the whole morning staring blankly at her computer, unable to concentrate on anything.

Finally, she decided to take the day off and head back home. As she walked back, tears started to roll down her cheeks. She couldn't help but think about the good times she had spent with him. The walks they took on the beach, the long drives they went on, and the countless hours they spent just talking about their future together. It all seemed like a distant, dreamlike memory now.

When she reached home, she sat on her couch, staring at the empty walls. The silence in her apartment seemed deafening. She waked up walked to her room took an old diary of her and opened a marked page It read, "I'm sorry, I miss you. Please come back".
