humanity
For better or for worse, relationships reveal the core of the human condition.
Empty Eyes
I stared in the mirror of my bedroom. I was absolutely disgusted with myself. Maybe because everyone else was disgusted with me? Me and my empty, black eyes. Black all the way to the middle where they turned red.

The more that I ponder this sort of question, the more I wonder how I know who to trust and who not to trust, then I realised it's the vibes that people give off at the time that I'm talking to them or the presence they give off that make them not worth trusting.
Lizzy ArrowPublished 7 years ago in HumansWhat Has Made You Angry Recently?
What has made me angry recently are rules and laws that Caspian has to obey. No matter how much we try to raise money or do things, we always seem to get blocked at every turn, even if we have had a lot of help to begin with. It just seems to be never ending; yet no matter how much we argue or share our frustrations, we still love each other and always find a way. Even when I have a lot of health wise kicking in, I know he can't be there to help, that he is frustrated with his job and family rules and the law that they follow. Not having any money to do anything doesn't help the situation either. That makes me angrier, as I'm working so hard but I'm just not getting anywhere, even though I'm trying my best to do everything that I can.
Lizzy ArrowPublished 7 years ago in HumansAge Gaps in Relationships
Let's get right down to it: how important is an age gap in a relationship? The answer can either be simple or quite complicated and like all matters of the heart, it will ultimately depend on the individual.
Helen KirkbyPublished 7 years ago in HumansBeing Gay is Exhausting
Being gay truly is exhausting. Being any kind of LGBTQ+ member can feel, at times, tiring and frustrating. Now before I go any further, I already know some (not all, but if the shoe fits...) straight people will sneer at these words and ask; "Why? Is it hard being slutty? Is it tiring for tranny men that pretend to be women, and vice versa? Is it taxing denying yourself the pleasure of being with the opposite sex?"

Personal Space is an Actual Thing, Sir.
It's a tough 'ole world out there for us girls - this is a known fact so I shan't labour it too much, worry not. I just want to share with you an experience I had the other day which had a superb effect on me.
The Here
Limited. We are limited. Space (in a non-scientific, infinite galaxy type way) is limited. If we are fortunate, we each have our own little boxes that we take up each night, walls that we store items collected/given over the years, rooms that we decorate in such a way as to show to whoever graces our doorstep who we want ourselves to be. Space, in this way, is moldable. It bends to our wishes and desires. It offers us a place in which we can more actively and more comfortably experiment with becoming the people that we would most like to be.

My friend and I developed a close relationship from kindergarten until we graduated high school. We pretty much stuck together through thick and thin. However, we did not necessarily have the greatest start. In fact, we were enemies before we were friends. Since we were never able to reach a point where we could talk about this issue, it later created a disconnect for us, and left me with unanswered questions even now at age 23.

I can’t recall the exact time a call for help rang into my room but early Friday morning, I heard the panic filled scream of a family friend, Amanda, followed by the chaos of finding my grandfather unresponsive. I sat up in my room. I can’t recall if I had been sleeping or not at the time. Regardless, the sound caused by my father screaming made me realize that something was wrong.

As a male who has now been on this earth 28 years I can say that I have broken out of the Masculinity Prison. However, I am certainly still on probation with a plethora of re-programming still to do. Sadly, I am one of the lucky ones that even is aware that I was in prison or even willing to acknowledge a prison even exists.

I make no excuses and I speak for no one besides myself. I pull no punches and I look myself in the mirror yesterday and tomorrow. I've had to live like that, and I can't not at this point. It hasn't always been so successful and I haven't always liked or respected myself. Only Mitch Hedberg can judge me, and he hasn't been around for quite some time.

Guilt. The tormenting being that lurks inside all of us, poking at us, and reminding us of our failures. Day in and day out. It pulls us from our slumber, out of our lollipop daydreams back into the nightmare of reality.
