Imperfectly Perfect
As I sat in my mirror, I took deep breaths to ease my nerves. I was trying to do my eyeliner with a cute little flick that look like a wing. The only problem, my hands were shaking as I got ready for my evening. I can't believe I listened to my sister. Usually, she was the voice of reason... Except for this time. Enter the contest she said. It will be fun she said.... This is how I ended up on a Friday night, doing my makeup and praying I don't make a complete and total fool of myself.

Flight of Fancy
It was one of those beautiful late summer afternoons. There was bit of a breeze, and the warm glow of four o’clock light painted the town a lovely shade of gold. I found a parking spot on the tree-lined street, and made my way towards a small wine bar right off the main boulevard in Solvang. The town, built in 1911, and made to replicate Danish architecture, had quaint cobblestone streets, old-fashioned gas-lit lamps, and an abundance of knickknack shops. It was the perfect place for a first date.

The Last Room
Men that would be entertained as her suiter would slowly try to mold her into the shape they wished for her instead of the one she was. Not understanding that Carmina was her own breed. Putting her into a box of any sort was like trying to get a colander to stay full of water or lighting a taper candle with the hopes the wax might not melt. Many people love a good challenge but one must recognize when one is futile.

Wine Flower
I’m a fact person. A science person. Everything I eat, the vitamins I take, what I wear, how I exercise, what I drink—it’s all based on fact. If I’m not sure about something, I look it up. I’m that girl reading peer reviewed studies before she goes to bed. There are things I just have to know, not only about health and nutrition, but also about history and sometimes weird stuff.

Another First Date
Another first date. How many times could I possibly tell another human being what my favorite color was? Not too many more, I tell you. I was running out of patience with the opposite sex. How hard was it to be consistent and enjoyable? It wasn’t hard for me to do, but it seemed like it was impossible to find a partner who could. I had begun to accept that my soul mate may just be money, and I was okay with that. I had a great job, even better group of friends and a passion for life that kept me grounded. No matter how many dates or text exchanges I engaged in, I was usually unlucky in the love department. My best friend, Jaxson, was convinced I was not destined to be alone.

Memories and Solace
February 10 "Heyy." "Sup?" "You ok?" "I'm worried about you. Call me back." I scrolled my phone again and again. It's been one month, twenty-four days to be exact. This is our latest text, well, I guess not ours, only mine. The all-read-only texts that make me uneasy.

A Bright Toast
"Bright Cellar" She softly said to herself , followed by a smile and a thought of how romance was flowing in the air. she had been looking forward to this special evening for some time now. She first met him at a coffee shop by mistake one day that she happened to be running late. She was a very punctual person, she took her time very seriously since she began her carrier as a entrepreneur running her businesses as a photographer, boutique store owner, her own online podcast with its own live channel and occasionally when she felt like doing something edgy or wanted to just feel like a god's sent vixen she would go down to the local gentlemen's club and show the world, mostly the men what they could not have, and simply once in a very blue moon if they where very lucky could simply take a peep at. Men threw themselves at her promising to take care of her and save her from this horrible life that such a beautiful lady should never have to experience.

Zoom at Full Moon With the Girl Next Door
Alex never was quite sure when the infatuation began. He was chatting with someone named The Herb Faery on the local neighborhood Facebook page and noticed how her kind, wise, and witty comments sometimes diffused the frequent squabbling over barking dogs, limited parking places, and such petty disputes. Then he found himself eyeballing her profile and sending a friend request. There was no photo of her but a Victorian illustration of a lovely dark-haired faery in a flower garden.
