I'm going to start this off by pointing out something that should be obvious, but often escapes a person's mind. That obvious thing is that no couple is exactly like another and there is no one solution fits all way to keep the passion or the romance alive in a long-term relationship.

Why We Struggle to Keep Our Promises
David made a promise to Susan, whom he had met a couple times and fancied. He would ring her as soon as he got in from work that day, he told her. She waited eagerly for his call because they were just getting to know each other and she was keen to have contact. But just before he was due to ring her, he got another call from a friend and was totally distracted by it. Susan lost out because he forgot. The Echoes
Grief is such a weird thing. It's the empty halls where you once heard their footsteps. The laugh when a joke is told that is missing. It’s the birthday cards full of confetti that you no longer get. It’s all the firsts: the first Christmas they’re gone, the holidays, the birthdays, anniversaries, the ordinary days. It's the echoes that last. It's the rainbow after the rain, the birds singing in the morning, the baby that giggles, and the quiet moments that remind you of their absence. Some days, everything reminds you, and other days, it's just a bittersweet memory.
