This wasn't an act of God but an act of a selfish human being

Several Africans were overjoyed and praising God for a 70-year old women getting IVF (In vitro fertilization).

The woman a Ugandan, gave birth to healthy twin babies. Only one article about the pregnancy actually mentioned the complications of being elderly and giving birth. However the doctor should've given more though to the humanity behind helping to impregnate a woman at such an advanced age.

The fact that this news article was shared widely in several African countries, then spread to the United States, shows how cultrual and moral values are so different.

This story of the 70-year old, that gave birth to twins with the help if IVF in Uganda has got me a bit angry. What an irresponsible act by this doctor should land him unemployed.

I've read hundreds (maybe thousands it's been exhausting) of comments from Africans on social media, praying and thanking God. Most called this a miracle, hundreds of congratulations but did anyone read the article, after the title?

She had given birth to a 3-year old child, just a few years prior. She admits in a video interview that she has no idea how she's going to care for the children when she returns home. The 3-year old is with someone else, not sure if this was just during the time she was hospitalized to give birth to the twins.

This article shows a true cultural and moral divide from Africans to Westerns. With so many Africans thinking it's amazing that a unmarried, elderly woman, having 3 children under 3-years of age, no help and no money, is God's blessing.

In all the articles and videos, the woman doesn't have any family.

She said she was childless throughout her marriage, was mocked for not giving birth. That husband is gone and she moved onto another man.

Dr. Edward Tamale Sali, a fertility specialist at the Women's Hospital International and Fertility Centre, told the BBC the mother used a donor egg and her partner's sperm for the in-vitro fertilization (IVF) procedure.

But Namukwaya voiced dismay that her partner has not visited her since she came to the hospital for the delivery.

"Maybe he is not happy that I delivered twins because men don't want to know you are carrying more than one child in a womb for fear of may be responsibilities that come with that," she said.

The article is written in several different ways, in one article she said the man left her when he found out she was having twins.

In the viral video she says she's unable to farm and attend to the field to make a living, how is she going to take care of 3 children, all under the age of 3-years, at 70-years old?

In the video the woman seems to be speaking as if she's a selfish human being, she's having babies to take care of her, or to show that she's able to do so because a damn child said she was born barren.

She seems to have some mental health issues and this selfish, ignrant doctor decided to help a women who has no money to bring 2 more children into the world.

If you watch the video the doctor seems more confused then the woman is, he says HIV isn't a big deal, he then says physical fitness is the only problem. He seems to be as selfish as the woman.

The hundreds of comments from all over Africa, only one person called this act selfish. However when it was posted by People magazine, Americans had a different outlook upon this news.

Most of the comments were people being sad that he children's father left and that this elderly woman probably wouldn't be able to do much for her children. Also the fact that she's 70-years old made a big difference. How can you provide for 3 children and she's stated that she's all alone.

Africans found this amazing, praising God but none seemed to care where the money or the woman's help would come from. Sadly she seemed to use most of her money for the IFV fees and has no savings left as she's said in the video and articles.

I lost several screenshots with the comments from Africans as well as Westerners. I had to delete photos from my phone as it refused to work. Here are just a few Twitter comments about the woman giving birth.

Mostly Africans welcomed this news as God's work, not sure how many people again read the article, it's actually very depressing to me.

Why the Hell would this give hope to people who are more than 30-years younger than this woman, what a dumb ass comment. That you can use science to have babies into your final years of life?

How moronic, the woman even states she doesn't know how she'll care for these 3 children, 2 girls and 1 boy.

This one thinks it's inspiring, age is just a number, he should be checked to make sure he isn't dating children. Wonder what part of this inspired him, the part when these are her second and third children. Or the part where she's alone without any money or family?

My grandmother wasn't even 88-years old when I was 18-years old, this just goes to show you how odd this is. I'm 48-years old and my grandmother is 93-years old, she's taken care of by my mother, has a pension and great medical care with insurance. She's not living in rural Uganda, with 3 children and 3-years old and a farmer by trade.
