Hello, my name is Ciara and this is my first time ever writing a blog. But i decided to give it a try. On that note I've spent a great deal of time deciding on what i should write about, I have many interesting things to write about my life has been very interesting for sure, So i decided to make it a this is My life blog. Weather others will find it interesting or appealing to read is really not a huge influence to me in writing it, its more to maybe meet others in similar circumstances.

So to begin I think ill start as far back as 2014, it all started with a routine doctors visit, at that time i had them ever three months to monitor my recently diagnosed anxiety and depression. The Doctor was doing a normal work up, just pushing on my abdomen to see if i had sensitivity anywhere this was normal for my visits. She noticed at that time i was having some discomfort when she pressed over my gallbladder, which generally indicates gallstones, so she referred me to a G.I specialist it was a two month wait to be seen, which wasn't a big deal because i wasn't uncomfortable at that time. But by time i was able to be seen i was just a little over a month pregnant with my son, whom we had been trying to get pregnant with for six months prior to my gallbladder issues. So of course the G.I doctor told me he wanted to wait until the second trimester to make sure the baby would make it threw the operation. So i complied and waited, little did i know i was about to get very sick...

about a month passes and nothing seems out of the norm for me. until one night i was laying in bed with my husband and was very uncomfortable, he listened to my heart rate and noticed it was elevated and suggested he take me to the hospital, now my home town hospital is known for being a "band-aid" station and not being the most equipped or having the most compassionate doctors. So we make our way into the hospital and i get back in a room at first they notice my blood pressure is slightly elevated and my heart rate is elevated so they run some blood work and give me pain medicine to control my discomfort. after about three to four hours of waiting they come back and say they have no explanation for me as to why i'm in pain, so they send me home. the pain dissipates and i go back to a semi normal life, meaning i started to have bowel issues and pain pretty regularly but i deal and wait for the second trimester. about two months go by of me living this way. until one night i wake up in the worst pain i at that time had ever felt. I take myself to the hospital only to be accused of wanting drugs and sent home with no answers. now this should be noted i am five foot and eight inches tall and i started out in june 125lbs and by time it was the end of august i was 105lbs and unable to eat without horrible pain. So me knowing something is for sure wrong, I drive myself thirty minutes away to a near by hospital, i go straight to the ER immediately they could tell something was wrong, i got test and an IV placed also they preformed an ultrasound to see what was going on, when they get my blood work back they realize my pancreas enzymes are extremely elevated and my AST is elevated as well, AST is for liver function/damages. Doctor said he couldn't believe i was sent home in this condition and immediately He schedule surgery for the next day. So the typically this surgery is an in/out procedure but because i was pregnant and had liver damage and elevated lipase they suggested i stay until my test got better, i spent a week in the hospital and it took me six months to gain 30 lbs so id have a healthy pregnancy. Thankfully my son was born healthy and normal, hes a little guy still but hes healthy and normal. whats most frustrating for me is i had to advocate for myself and drive out of town to get any help... I completely understand there are people who abuse the medical system to get drugs but i was not one of them and i could have lost my son because of their insinuation. still to this day i have chronic pancreatitis because they waited to long to fix the problem, i still have liver damage and ill always have to watch my diet and how much alcohol i consume because i have to worry about going in to complete liver failure or losing my pancreas .

All due to one hospitals negligence.
