Have you ever read the book Eat Pray Love? Well if you have you'll remember the scene where Elizabeth's Friend is telling her what a soulmate is. But before I tell you what he said I'd like to tell you what everyone thinks a soulmate is. Everyone thinks a soulmate is a perfect match, they think it's the person you'll spend forever with. But that's not the case!

Elizabeth's Friend told her that a soulmate is a mirror, they smack you awake so you can change your life. They bring you to your own attention and they are probably the most important person you'll ever meet in your life. They show you what's holding you back. But the thing is you may not want to marry them and here's why. The way I see it is that a soulmate comes into your life when you're broken and vulnerable. They give you time to breathe and they love on you. They make you feel pretty and strong again. They are basically your life raft. They lead you where you need to go. They teach you lessons you need to learn.

Over time the communication lessens and they dissapear. But you hold them in such a high regard and your okay when they leave. Why? Because they taught you to love yourself again and they taught you to hold your own. They helped you out when you were hurting beyond belief. They helped you see clearly again.

Now what do you now? You work on yourself and continue healing. See your soulmates purpose was to help you START healing. They aren't supposed to hold your hand during the process. Your soulmate served their purpose. They did all they had to do for you. You'll forever appreciate it though. The question is will you ever talk to them again? Will the connection stick forever?

The answer is no. It may hurt at first but like I said they taught you everything you needed to learn and they served their purpose. You won't hate them, you won't have any ill feelings towards this person. They won't have any ill feelings towards you either. You'll always care about each other and you'll always have a special connection. But sometimes people are only meant to be in there for a certain amount time. People come into your life and teach you things and show you certain aspects of yourself.

Why won't you want to marry them I hear you ask? Well it's simple, it would hurt to much. The connection while sweet at first would become extremely toxic. You aren't meant to be with the person who smacked you awake at your most vulnerable and helped you heal. That's too intense for any relationship to handle. You need to learn to depend on yourself. Which is another reason they have to leave.

When you find your perfect match, you'll understand why it didn't work out with anyone else. Things happen for a reason and the universe has a plan for us all. People come in and out of our lives and show us different messages. This is how the world works, and we have to live with that. We have to learn to be present and enjoy the time instead of wanting things that aren't meant to last forever to last forever.

You have to learn that sadly. It's probably the most important lesson you'll ever learn. And you'll be grateful you did because it made you who you are today and shaped you. It made you stronger in the end. So it's all good :)
