Get ready for a thrilling sports action movie with "Creed III," filled with talented actors and an incredible creative team that will leave you on the edge of your seat.

Michael B. Jordan impresses with his directorial debut in the latest installment of the “Rocky” spinoff franchise, “Creed III.” He takes on the dual roles of director and star, playing Adonis Creed, the champion fighter and son of Apollo. Jordan's directing style both honors the franchise's legacy and propels the story forward. The film introduces Adonis' childhood friend-turned-adversary, played by Jonathan Majors, whose character adds tension to the plot.

The film starts slowly, taking us back to 2002 Los Angeles, where we see Adonis sneaking out to watch his big brother figure, Dame, dominate in underground fights. A violent confrontation on their way home changes both of their lives forever. Adonis goes on to become a successful fighter, while Dame serves an 18-year prison term. In the present day, Adonis has retired from boxing and is living a luxurious life with his family. Bianca, played by Tessa Thompson, is a singer-songwriter who is also producing new talent, while their deaf daughter, Amara, played by Mila Davis-Kent, brings a spark of energy to the film.

Adonis and Bianca are content with their lives, but their reverie is shattered by the arrival of Dame, who seeks boxing glory he believes is his due. Majors plays the role of the imposing and volatile villain with great energy. Jordan's directing style, combined with the excellent performances of the cast, creates a full, rich story that tells us more than just what the characters say.

The screenplay hits all the uplifting beats you'd expect from a boxing movie, but with some clever new twists. Multiple training montages are included, with the familiar scenes of running, punching and sparring. Adonis' pulling of an airplane using only his pectoral muscles is hilarious but wildly entertaining. The climactic showdown between the two warriors is dazzlingly staged, with impressive stylistic choices in sound design, camera movements, and visual effects.

Jordan's eye for detail is evident in the film's production design and costumes, which reflect the luxurious lifestyle enjoyed by Adonis and his family. The film also highlights the use of sign language as a means of communication within the family, adding an authentic touch. The film is heavy on masculinity, but Thompson brings an earthiness and sensitivity to her role that complements the overall tone.

In conclusion, “Creed III” is a powerful addition to the “Rocky” franchise, and Michael B. Jordan's directing and acting skills are impressive. The film successfully balances the familiar tropes of the genre with new twists and turns, making it a must-watch for fans of the franchise and newcomers alike.
