A six-year-old boy, Corey Micciolo, died from fatal heart stress after a beating, according to a court hearing.

Christopher Gregor, the father, appeared emotional during the trial, causing some online viewers to accuse him of faking it.

Micciolo suffered from chest and abdominal injuries, liver lacerations, and heart lacerations.

Christopher Gregor, 31, is facing murder charges over the death of his son, and appeared emotional as jurors heard harrowing testimony over the extent of his injuries

Corey Micciolo, 6, died in 2021 after a year of alleged abuse, with a forensic pathologist ruling he died due to blunt force trauma

In sickening CCTV video shown in Gregor's ongoing trial, Corey was seen continuously falling off the treadmill, while Gregor keeps lifting him up and putting him back on the machine

The court saw footage of Gregor forcing his son, Corey, to run on a treadmill and picking him up when he fell off. The footage was taken two weeks before Corey's death, and Corey's mother, Breanna Micciolo, testified against Gregor.

Prosecutors claimed Gregor showed abuse for months before Corey's death, with blunt force injuries.

Andrew, who did not perform the autopsy but was enlisted to give his verdict soon after the 2021 death, offered horrific new details of the manner of the six-year-old's demise.

Beginning with a contusion below Corey's diaphragm, he said the boy suffered two significant injuries to his liver, including a laceration to the liver tissue that caused blood to pool on his pelvis.

Andrew testified that Corey's body was also found to have a 'pulmonary contusion' to his lung causing internal bleeding, and several scalp contusions.

Notably, Corey also suffered a fatal laceration 'near the tip' of his heart, Andrew said, which was exacerbated by 'chronic ongoing stress' in his life.

'The immediate cause of death was blunt force injuries on the day he died,' the pathologist said. 'But stress cardiomyopathy suggests there was ongoing physiological stress, most likely due to mistreatment or abuse.'

Forensic pathologist Dr Thomas Andrew testified on the fifth day of the trial on Wednesday, as he offered sickening detail over the extent of Corey's injuries

In his testimony, Andrew, who was seen displaying autopsy images to the jury, stated that Corey had a chronic heart issue brought on by stress and that it was "most likely due to mistreatment or abuse."

Prosecutors allege that Gregor, who had only known his six-year-old son for a year before to his death, habitually battered and humiliated him to the point of death.

According to the results of the first autopsy, Corey had blunt force injuries all over his body in addition to liver and heart contusions.

Corey's mother posted graphic pictures of the assault she says the father committed on social media, including bruises all over his body and black eyes.

Corey's mother claims child protective services ignored her pleas for help over a year over her son's abuse. Andrew testified that Corey had contusions over his body, including his back, suggesting child abuse.

He rejected various theories and found the pattern and distribution suggestive of child abuse. Andrew's testimony was accompanied by images of alleged injuries.

Gregor, 31, was initially charged with child abuse, before the charges were escalated to murder almost a year after his son's death

Corey died from sepsis, but there was no evidence to support this. Some speculated that CPR was the cause, but Andrew testified that he had injuries with CPR.

A pathologist found a significant liver injury, but it was not fresh and he had never seen such an injury in his career. Andrew confirmed Corey's fatal injuries were between 4 and 12 hours before his death, with the pathologist estimating his death to be between 9am and 1pm on the same day.

Earlier in the trial, harrowing hospital footage was shared, showing the moment moment Christopher Gregor carried his son into hospital on the day he died in April 2021

Corey's mother, Breanna Micciolo, claims that despite providing numerous images and videos of her son's injuries, child protective services have consistently dismissed her reports.

Breanna Micciolo, the mother of Corey, testified at a trial about the alleged abuse he suffered from her son, Gregor.

Micciolo claimed that Gregor, who entered Corey's life at five, accidentally kicked him while playing soccer.

She claimed Gregor used a treadmill as a punishment tool during visitations.

Micciolo set up a Facebook group called 'Justice for Corey' after Corey's death in April 2021, sharing harrowing pictures of his injuries and claiming child protective services ignored her reports.
