Miyamoto Musashi was a 17th-century Japanese swordsman. He was a remarkable fighter, known for his two-sword fighting style. Miyamoto Musashi had the record number of duel victories - 60 victories.

He followed Confucianism and Taoism and wrote a series of current wisdom today:

1. Learn to accept life as it is

If you worry too much about the distant future, you will fall prey to anxiety and stress. To maintain a state of inner peace, you must learn to accept life as it is.

In this way, you will be able to resist all the difficulties of life.

2. Do not run after pleasure like a hungry wolf

Pleasant things are only useful when they occur naturally in your life. But if you are looking for pleasure, you will miss the small moments of happiness in life.

Nowadays, most pleasant things are short-lived, ephemeral, and increasingly difficult to obtain. Running in search of them doesn't make sense.

The most beautiful things appear in our lives unexpectedly.

3. Don't be impulsive

It is not a bad thing to follow your instincts and intuition, but it is much better to analyze any situation calmly, to consider all the consequences, and only after that to make a decision.

4. Stop focusing on yourself

We live in a time when people waste hours in a row to make the best selfie possible to post it and get as many likes as possible. Each of us is looking for an ideal identified in the online environment.

Stop doing this and focus on the present and real life.

5. Don't let envy control your life

Envy takes the form of an obsession, which most often leads you to make the wrong choices. Don't allow this impulse to manipulate you.

6. Learn to want something very strong

Buddhist wisdom says that any attachment to a thing leads to addiction to it, which later becomes a destructive obsession.

7. Give up regrets

Once you understand and accept that what you have done can no longer be changed and that everything that happens in life makes sense, then you will have no regrets.

Regrets prevent us from observing and using new opportunities because we focus exclusively on the past.

8. Don't worry about breakups

In life, you have to break up with loved ones or things multiple times. But keep in mind that everything in life is done for us.

9. Don't compare yourself to others

Instead of comparing yourself to others, think about what you have gained in life. Then either feels proud of your accomplishments or keep working to achieve your goals.

10. Always be open to new opportunities

The most irrational thing is to hide from opportunities that you consider useless. Always be open to new things, then life will become an amazing journey.

11. Don't be a slave to the environment

Don't pay too much attention to insignificant things, such as social status or a beautiful home. Happiness in life is fleeting and it is illogical to get attached to something.

12. Be rational about your needs

Nothing in this world is eternal. In the afterlife, you won't even be able to take a box of matches with you. Then why run around looking for objects like a hungry man who never satisfies his hunger?

13. Don't develop a passion for one thing just because everyone does it

You need to believe in things that are of personal value to you. They must meet your intellectual and spiritual needs.

14. Be grateful to the Divinity, but do not be addicted

God will help the one who will help himself. The divinity exists to show you the right way, but it must be followed alone.

15. Do not be afraid of death

Accept death as inevitable, but don't be frightened by awareness of it.
