Cheap Samurai swords were traditionally made with a blade curved towards the point. The blade was forged into a triangular cross-section, resulting in a triangular cross guard that extended perpendicularly from the handle. The habaki is usually inscribed with the name, family crest, and other details of the sword's owner.

During the Edo period, most swords were worn hung from cords on a belt called "bike-obi." The obi itself could be elaborately decorated with cloth layers and tassels or simple leather cords. During the 18th century, Western-style sword belts were adopted. The most common was a plain leather strap with a rectangular silver or brass buckle in the center. This was used to hang the sword from the waist, with clips attached to the obi at each end.

Japanese swords hung in this fashion are often referred to as "Hanging Katana", or even simply "Katana." Also popular were British-style sword belts with long wide tabs of leather and brass studs along one edge that could be hooked onto a buttoned obi collar and worn around the waist, or clipped onto clothing. Here are the most famous swords ever!

Samurai Katana

Cheap Katana swords originated from Japanese warriors called Samurai who used them in combat during feudal Japan. They are associated with Japan's ancient history and remain important today as cultural symbols of Japanese identity. This blade is made of iron with no tempering. This iron blade is untreated and has an average hardness (about 55 HRC) and a carbon content (on average 0.6 %). The average length is around 70 cm and the average weight of the samurai sword is around 15-20 kg.

Original Chinese hand-made Katana Swords are still manufactured in China by expert smiths using 100% genuine steel, by forging high carbon steel into its final shape, then hand enhancement such as polishing, engraving with symbols, mono-symbol or mono-hira working the blade to provide smooth cutting action and durability guaranteed for a long time.

According to legend, the sword originated in the Heian period (794 to 1185) when Japanese swords were made of folded steel. During the Meiji period (1868-1912) swordsmiths started to make use of modernized forging techniques and materials but kept the traditional style of sword-making and used a variety of materials including steel imported from Europe.

Samurai Wakizashi

A wakizashi was a dagger used by samurai as a secondary weapon in addition to the katana. It was usually shorter and heavier than the katana. The wakizashi has a different cross-section than the katana, resulting in a straight edge. Its habaki (a metal collar that fastens the blade's tang to the hilt, increasing friction) is often plain or simple and bears no inscription; it is sometimes described as looking like an "eye".

Samurai also wore wakizashi sewn onto their obi (stringed sash worn around the waist). These blades are made of 100% genuine Steel. These samurai swords come in two variations, hard and soft. Hard blades use hard carbon steel such as byaka/sai and Tachikawa/naga for a harder blade. Soft blades use softer steel such as byakagami for a more flexible blade.

The hard range is not suitable for beginners due to its hardness. There is a huge amount of choice available for both ranges, especially in the soft range which is much easier to handle with its flexibility/ease of cutting, etc.

Tanto

A tanto (sometimes spelled tantō or simply tanto) is an extremely long knife-type sword with a relatively thin blade, used primarily as an inexpensive thrusting weapon. The blade was generally about 18 to 30 cm in length and often had a slight curve.

Since the tanto dagger was designed as a thrusting weapon, it has an edge only on the central portion of the blade. It usually has no handguard (tsuba). Because of its intimidating appearance, colorful handle, and spongy nature/comfortability to carry around as well as its superior sharpness, it was mostly used to resolve disputes between samurai during more peaceful times.

Uses of Samurai Swords:

Cheap Katana swords are a type of curved blade that dates way back to the 12th century. They were originally designed for use by samurai warriors. The goal of the samurai was to either behead or slice off a body part of their enemy, which is why they excelled at using curved blades like this one! There are many different types of these swords, and they were all used in different situations:

In addition to being used as weapons, these blades could also be used as tools (the sword's edge can act as a saw) or even something personal (cutting one's hair). The main thing to keep in mind about samurai swords is that, although they are very varied in shape, style, and features, they all have one thing in common: the blade's curvature.

This is the most beneficial aspect of the whole weapon concept. The blade can be used as a screwdriver or as a small saw (for cutting wood) or a small knife that's sharpened on one end. That's a huge variety of uses for just one item! But it doesn't stop there: it also aids people who need to draw pictures or write things by providing a straight edge.
