I was sitting at my desk, at my boring office job when the clock struck 11:08am. I had spent most of the morning fixing a previous day’s mistake, which took me half of the day, and this morning to fix. I usually do some reading to pass the time, since I work in customer service and our phones usually die down around 2pm. My shift is 8am – 4:45pm, which can make for a super long workday when there isn’t anything to occupy the time.
Reed Alexander's Horror Review of 'Antiviral' (2012)
God damn, this movie was pretty. Can we just take a moment to sit back and appreciate that fucking movie poster? The whole damn movie is like that. It goes from sterile clean to noir gritty, back and forth in these beautiful contrasts that are absolutely breathtaking. One moment it's like you're in a hyperbaric chamber and the next you're in a butcher's kitchen among the grime and awful drippings. This atmosphere is to contrast the beauty of the celebrities that are harvested, and the fact that they are literally harvesting germs.

The Chair at the End of the Bed
Mark and I grew up together, meeting in nursery school when we were about two. We played with the same toys, learned the same games, read the same books and as we started school, we were both delighted to find that we were in the same classes.

While you might not know the word “cryptid,” you definitely know of at least one of these creatures. Bigfoot and Mothman (and their variations) are the most well known. Basically, a cryptid is one of those creatures that people have claimed to see or swear are real, but the evidence for them is sketchy at best.

In the waking moments of the desert's day, the sun emerged as an unrelenting force, igniting the horizon with a fiery glow that painted the sand dunes in hues of crimson and gold. The stark contrast of the scorching heat against the coolness of the night lingered in my bones, a disconcerting reminder of the relentless cycle this barren land endured.
"Eclipsed Legacies: Unveiling the Secrets of Ravenscroft Manor"
The wind whispered through the ancient oaks that surrounded the imposing mansion known as Ravenscroft Manor. Its ivy-covered walls stood tall and ominous, casting long shadows under the silvery glow of the moon. The mansion seemed to creak with the weight of its own history, a history that reached back through generations. It was a place that harbored secrets, and within its walls, a nursery bore witness to a chilling tale that defied the boundaries of the living and the dead.

I’m always on the lookout for something spooky to read. I am desperate for that book that sends shivers down your spine, or keeps your mind racing at night thinking of all the twisted possibilities that lurk in the shadows. The local bookstore was reorganizing their displays and happened to have a large quantity of books thrown together, and it was in this massive pile that this particular book caught my eye–the bargain price stick on the bottom of the cover also caught my eye, but that isn’t nearly as important. I grabbed this book and added it to the growing stack of books in my arms before heading out of the store and back home to shelve the newest additions to my collection. Despite being a bargain price, this book was full of exactly what I had been looking for.

I'm a cop in Nevada for a tiny town of less than a thousand. Courtney Nevada doesn't have an actual police force, the mayor is usually whoever is the soberest at election time, and it's made up of retirees and people trying not to be noticed. It lies between Austin and Eureka, and the whole town is managed by a single officer, me. I live in Eureka, but three months out of the year I stay in the dingy little Palmer Inn and operate the emergency phone system. It's routed to my cell phone and when I'm not out on a call I can be found in my room watching TV, the Palmer actually gets really satellite TV.
